LG presented new OLED TVs for 2026 at CES 2026. Without a revolution in the form of HDMI 2.2 or Dolby Vision 2, but with a very important change that users have been waiting for years. For the first time, the top-tier Tandem OLED panel will not be exclusively reserved for the G series. It will also be available in the popular C6 series. At least partially.
Tandem OLED remains king. G6 takes it a step further
As every year, LG leaves its best technologies for the G series. The G6 model will receive the second generation of the 4-layer Tandem WOLED matrix, referred to by the manufacturer as Hyper Radiant Color Technology. According to LG, the new panel offers:
up to 20% higher peak brightness than last year's G5
up to 3.9x higher brightness than the B6 in a 10% window
significantly better energy efficiency and a wider color gamut
Everything indicates that the brightness of the G6 will exceed 3000 nits, although there are no official, confirmed measurements yet. From tests of previous generations of Tandem OLED, such as the LG G5, we know, however, that these are some of the brightest and most impressive OLED matrices on the market.
Another innovation in the G6 is a new panel structure and anti-reflective coating, which is meant to reduce reflections by about half, without losing deep blacks. This is a clear signal towards QD-OLEDs, which can appear gray in bright rooms. It is worth noting that this technology applies to sizes of 55, 65, 77, and 83 inches – not 48 inches.
LG C6 with a panel like the LG G6. Tandem OLED in the world's most popular TV series
The biggest and most surprising news concerns the C series. LG did not officially focus much on it during the pre-CES briefing, but it has been confirmed that the LG C6 will finally receive a Tandem OLED panel in 2026. However, there is a key catch. The improved, 4-layer Tandem OLED panel will be available exclusively in the largest variants:
77 inches
83 inches
This refers to the model designated as C6H, which is expected to receive a version of the Tandem OLED panel, likely a bit simplified compared to the G6. Nevertheless, it will still be a huge qualitative leap for the C series – the largest in its history. Higher brightness, better colors, and significantly improved energy efficiency are things that users have been waiting for for years.
The standard versions of the C6 and the cheaper CS6 will not receive the new panel. Meanwhile, the B6 series will also stick with classic OLED, although LG is introducing an additional B6E variant, very similar to last year's B5. At this moment, it is not known which markets will receive the C6H variant with the Tandem OLED panel. LG has not confirmed regional availability, so there may be differences between Europe, the USA, and Asia.
Alpha 11 Gen 3 Processor and New Features for Gamers
The G6 and C6H models will feature the Alpha 11 Gen 3 processor, which according to LG offers:
50% faster CPU
70% faster GPU
up to 5.6x faster NPU
In practice, this is expected to result in better picture scaling, more effective AI algorithms, and more advanced motion processing. In 2026, LG will also introduce:
4K120 game streaming with Nvidia GeForce Now
Bluetooth ULL with 1 ms latency for controllers
support for 4K 120 Hz on consoles and 4K 165 Hz on PCs (HDMI 2.1)
However, there is still no HDMI 2.2 or Dolby Vision 2. LG remains committed to established standards, which may be disappointing for some enthusiasts.
Dolby Atmos FlexConnect and picture modes
The novelty is Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, which allows wireless connection of speakers directly to the television. This is a nod to users who want to expand spatial sound without the tangle of wires. However, there is no support for DTS or IMAX Enhanced. A dedicated Ambient Filmmaker Mode is also introduced, previously available only as a hidden option, as well as improved TruMotion with adaptive motion smoothing levels depending on the content.
What's New in webOS 26
LG, during the presentation of its OLED TVs for 2026, also showcased webOS 26, the new version of its Smart TV system. There are many changes, although some of them are evolutionary rather than revolutionary. In the LG Gallery+ section, there will be artworks and images generated by AI in collaboration with Google Gemini. Access to this feature requires a subscription, which provides a certain number of credits for generating additional AI graphics. This expands the concept of the television as a "digital artwork," known from previous years, but now strongly supported by generative artificial intelligence.
LG promises that webOS 26 will operate significantly faster and smoother. This is good news, as the system has been often criticized in recent years for slowdowns, a cluttered interface, and overly aggressive promotional content. In addition to Google Gemini, LG's 2026 TVs will also feature Microsoft Copilot. Users will be able to ask the television questions regarding the content they are watching, as well as completely different topics. How functional and truly useful this will be remains to be seen in testing. When it comes to smart home and content sharing, LG is focusing on full compatibility. webOS 26 supports:
Homey (the platform acquired by LG)
Matter with Thread
Apple Home and AirPlay
Google Cast (Chromecast)
Zigbee
Thanks to this, the television is set to act as the control center for the smart home, regardless of the ecosystem. Importantly, webOS 26 will eventually also be available for older LG TV models, although the manufacturer has not yet provided a detailed list of compatible devices or a schedule for updates.
The LG OLED 2026 TVs will go on sale starting this spring. Prices have not yet been announced. Detailed information regarding sizes, variants (G6, C6H, C6, CS6, B6, B6E), and technical specifications can be found in the LG model database, to which the manufacturer refers. One thing is certain – 2026 is set to be one of the more interesting years for LG OLEDs, especially if the C6H variant with the Tandem OLED panel actually reaches key markets.

LG C6 with Tandem OLED matrix is undoubtedly one of the most important premieres of CES 2026. For the first time, the groundbreaking technology known from the G series is making its way to the most popular OLED series in the world. However, one must keep in mind the limitations – only the largest sizes, uncertain market availability, and lack of full specifications. If the tests confirm what we already know from models such as LG G5, C6H in 77 and 83-inch versions may turn out to be one of the most interesting OLED TVs of 2026.
