Apple Vision Pro with the M5 chip – the new generation of spatial computer with 120 Hz screens and better battery life!

Calendar 10/16/2025

Apple Vision Pro with M5 chip, 120 Hz displays and improved battery. The new Dual Knit Band, visionOS 26, and 3D + HDR support take VR to the next level.

Apple officially presented the refreshed version of its most expensive headset. The new Apple Vision Pro (2025) features a M5 chip, a new Dual Knit Band, improved image quality, and a longer battery life.

No global premiere and the same price

Although the device has received a number of enhancements, the price remains unchanged – 3500 USD before tax. There is still no information about global availability. The premiere will take place on October 22 in selected countries: Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, UAE, the United Kingdom, and the USA. South Korea and Taiwan are waiting in line.

M5 chip and 120 Hz display

The new M5 chip replaces the previous M2 and brings a significant performance boost – up to 50% higher AI power, better CPU and GPU, and hardware ray tracing. Apple emphasizes that the chip also enables rendering 10% more pixels on micro-OLED screens. We are still talking about over 4K per eye (23 million pixels total), but now with refresh rates up to 120 Hz. This is still the best image quality available among headsets, definitely outpacing Meta Quest or Pico designs, which still rely on LCD.

Vision Pro is capable of simulating cinema, IMAX screens, or huge virtual monitors for work, as well as playing content in 2D, 3D, and "immersive" format.

Dual Knit Band and 3 hours of battery life

The new Dual Knit Band is designed to improve comfort despite its rather bulky construction. The lower strap is equipped with flexible ribs with tungsten inserts, which act as a counterbalance. The new strap is available in three sizes (S/M/L) and can also be purchased separately and used with the previous model.

The external battery now provides up to 3 hours of operation, which is a noticeable improvement over the first version.

visionOS 26, new app and no Netflix

The headset debuts with the visionOS 26, introducing new immersive experiences from documentaries, sports, and music. A Apple Vision Pro app for iPad is also expected to be released soon, allowing users to control the headset and remotely download games.

Apple boasts a base of over a million apps, although only about 3000 were created specifically for visionOS. There is still a lack of Netflix and YouTube, but Disney+ and HBO Max offer special environments ("Star Wars," "Hogwarts") where you can watch movies, for example, "on the moon." Next year, the first VR sports broadcasts will debut, and the Apple TV app already has over 300 3D movies available.

Games, Work, and the Future of Entertainment

Vision Pro supports games in 4K HDR and spatial audio, although most of them still operate on a virtual screen. A novelty is the support for PlayStation VR2 controllers. The headset can also mirror the Mac screen, and at work, the user can arrange multiple virtual monitors around them. FlatpanelsHD described the experience with Vision Pro as a “video revolution”, providing insight into the future of cinema, gaming, and work in 3D space.

Summary

  • Apple Vision Pro (M5, 256 GB) – 3500 USD (about 15,000 PLN)

  • Launch date: October 22, 2025 in selected regions

  • No global release date
