AOC is preparing a new monitor for demanding gamers. The AGON Pro AGP277QKM combines a refresh rate as high as 425 Hz with QD Mini LED backlighting, offering 1,152 local dimming zones. The manufacturer also claims brightness reaching 1,200 nits and DisplayHDR 1000 certification. Could this be an interesting alternative to gaming OLEDs?
The new AOC is equipped with a 27-inch Fast IPS panel with WQHD (2560 × 1440 pixels) resolution. A 425 Hz refresh rate and a claimed 0.5 ms GtG response time are meant to deliver very smooth performance and reduce motion blur, especially in fast-paced esports titles.
1,152 Mini LED zones and up to 1,200 nits brightness
One of the monitor’s biggest strengths is its QD Mini LED backlighting with 1,152 independently controlled zones. The technology is designed to deliver high contrast and deeper blacks while reducing halo artifacts around bright objects. AOC claims 1,200 nits maximum HDR brightness, 700 nits in standard HDR mode and 450 nits in SDR. The panel's native contrast ratio is 1300:1, and coverage of the DCI-P3 color space reaches 98%. The monitor also received VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification. The manufacturer didn’t forget additional features for gamers. On board are AMD FreeSync, a motion blur reduction mode and an on-screen crosshair. Users get DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR13.5, two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB hub and a headphone jack. The stand allows height, swivel and tilt adjustment.
The AOC AGP277QKM has already appeared in the manufacturer’s Chinese catalog. For now, its price and any potential European release date are unknown.
