The new 4K Blu-ray player will support discs from multiple regions. It has Dolby Vision.

A new 4K Blu-ray player from Laser has hit the market. The BLU-BD4K-384 model will be of particular interest to those who collect overseas film releases. The device supports Blu-ray and DVD discs from various regions and also plays 4K content. It is currently available for pre-order only in Australia.

Dolby Vision, but without HDR10+

The Laser BLU-BD4K-384 plays Ultra HD Blu-ray discs and supports Dolby Vision and HDR10. The manufacturer has also included high-resolution audio playback and support for media files via USB. However, the specifications do not include support for HDR10+. It is fitted with a single HDMI output, an Ethernet port and a USB port. The player has no Wi-Fi, so internet connectivity is via a wired connection.

For now, only Australia

The BLU-BD4K-384 laser costs AUD 499.95 (about GBP 270 at a straightforward conversion) in the Australian pre-order. The manufacturer expects sales to start in November 2026. At this time there is no information about the device's launch in Poland or its European price.

For collectors, the new player could be an appealing option. The ability to play discs from different regions makes it easier to use imported film releases that cannot be played on standard region-locked players.
