Samsung S99H, S95H OLED, Micro RGB and Mini-LED series. What do we know about Samsung televisions in 2026?

Calendar 4/16/2026

Samsung officially begins the pre-sale of televisions for 2026. The new offering turns the brand's existing strategy upside down. Instead of the predictable refresh of well-known designs, the portfolio now features many entirely new models. The giant from Seoul introduces solutions that shed completely new light on the product offering and plans to compete with the biggest rivals.

Samsung OLED S99H: OLED enclosed in a frame

A total novelty in the OLED television segment for 2026 is set to be the model S99H. This is a completely new addition to the portfolio of the Korean manufacturer and – importantly – it should not be considered a successor to the S95F series. It is worth mentioning the model S95H, which is a completely different device in Europe compared to the USA; it can be regarded as the successor to the S95F.

S99H is set to be a direct competitor to this year's LG W6 series. It is a premium segment OLED, where the main focus has been on design. This year, Samsung has installed a thicker, metal frame around it called FloatLayer. This allows the television to be hung and aligned almost perfectly flat against the wall, something that has previously been completely impossible.

What's inside? QD-OLED and Tandem WOLED

Besides the frame itself, it's worth looking at the panel technology. Samsung has opted for two types of panels here:

  • 55-77 inch options: They utilise a proprietary QD-OLED panel.

  • 83 inch option: Here, there is likely to be a 2nd generation Tandem OLED matrix.

Samsung hasn't forgotten about its strong suit, which is gaming. Each of these models features:

  • Refresh rate of 165Hz.

  • Full support thanks to 4 HDMI 2.1 ports.

  • Support for VRR and ALLM technologies.

It seems that the S99H is an option for those looking for top specifications wrapped in a very specific, luxurious casing. But will this metal "armour" FloatLayer win over minimalism fans? We look forward to your opinions.

S95H: A flagship model, but in a traditional edition

The next flagship model, about which not everything is known yet, is the Samsung S95H. According to various online forums, such as AVForums, this model is said to be a solution for those seeking the highest quality image, but in a somewhat more "subdued" form. Unlike the previously described model S99H, S95H does not feature the additional metal FloatLayer frame. For many users, this may be a considerably "safer" and less challenging choice, as the television retains a more classic look that we know from last year's S95F.

Quite a Mess with Nomenclature (USA vs Europe)

It is worth clarifying the issue of nomenclature straight away, as it can cause quite a bit of confusion when reading foreign reviews. The model that is known as S95H in the United States is actually our European flagship S99H. This means that American reviewers will be describing the device with a metal frame, whereas our European S95H is a FRAMELESS design. This is quite a strange strategy.

Matrix Mix: QD-OLED and WOLED in one model

In terms of technology, the S95H model offers a similar division of matrices depending on the screen size. The television will be available in sizes from 48 to 77 inches. The situation with the panels is as follows:

  • The variants 55, 65 and 77 inches use the latest generation of QD-OLED matrices,

  • The 48-inch version, on the other hand, will use a WOLED panel, as QD-OLED matrices are not produced in such a small size.

This means that by choosing the smallest model, you will receive a slightly different picture quality compared to the larger models.

Glare Free – matt coating

Like all this year's models from the series (S90, S95, S99), the S95H is also equipped with a matte display coating called Glare Free. This is a solution that allows you to forget about irritating reflections from windows or lamps during a viewing, as this coating effectively diffuses external light. As a result, black remains deep even in a brightly lit room. Additionally, this model supports a refresh rate of 165 Hz and features a full set of gaming functions.

MICRO RGB replaces the top models Neo QLED? MICRO RGB R95H and R85H

This is the biggest surprise of this year's Samsung offering. All the rumours confirm the discontinuation of the QN90 and QN85 models in favour of entirely new televisions from the R series. The manufacturer's offering will include two models: R85H (may appear as R86H) and the flagship R95H.

RGB Backlighting

This is a true tricolour revolution. Instead of traditional Mini-LED backlighting, Samsung uses three separate diodes here: red, green, and blue. This solution is intended to guarantee higher brightness and even better colour reproduction.

R95H: Top 4K Screen

The flagship model R95 promises to be the most interesting. It will be available in sizes from 65 to 85 inches. It is equipped with the new Micro RGB AI Engine Pro processor. This proprietary processor (and as the name suggests, based on artificial intelligence) manages the lighting from the three-colour diodes. The design of the device strongly refers to the luxury series Neo QLED 8K QN990F. Just like the model from the 8K family, it features a glass base.

R85H (R86H): 55, 65", 75", 85"

The R85H model is positioned as a more affordable alternative to the flagship R95H. The R85H, also known as R86H, is intended to serve as an entry point to the segment of televisions using RGB backlighting.

Specification and Backlighting Technology

Similar to the higher model R95H, the manufacturer has used Micro RGB technology here. However, the key difference affecting the lower price is the configuration of local dimming zones – in the R85H, their number will probably be significantly smaller than in the top model. Nevertheless, the use of Micro RGB is intended to provide better control over contrast and colour reproduction. The R85H will utilise a 144Hz panel instead of the 165Hz found in the R95H.

M80H: The Mini-LED series is set to be a price bomb

Another novelty that has officially appeared in Samsung's announcements for the Polish market is the model M80H. The letter "M" in the name directly corresponds to the term Mini-LED. This series does not use quantum dots, so it should not be confused or associated with the Neo QLED family of televisions. The intention is for these to be the cheapest televisions using Mini-LED diodes in Samsung's entire range. It's worth noting that a model M70 has also appeared in the United States; however, at this moment, there are no specific announcements regarding its availability in Poland.

Cold shower on local dimming

So what do we know about the M80H model? First of all, it will be available in a wide range of sizes – from 55 to as much as 85 inches. It has also been confirmed that the heart of the backlighting is Mini-LEDs. However, there is a bit of a "catch" here.

Not long ago, we assumed that this model would feature full-array local dimming, which would allow for precise contrast control. However, as it turns out, the first users who have received this model on the American market indicate the absence of local dimming technology. Mini-LEDs have been used here in the classic forms of Direct LED or Edge LED, which means they shine uniformly all the time. It's a bit of a pity, as we were counting on this model to shake things up in the market not only with an aggressive price but also with noticeably better picture quality in dark scenes.

The cheapest 144 Hz in Samsung's offer

Despite the lack of local dimming, the M80H has one powerful argument that will attract crowds: it is the cheapest Samsung television with a refresh rate of 144 Hz. For gamers, this is crucial information. The television will be equipped with 3 HDMI 2.1 ports, which will support all the key technologies, such as HGiG, VRR, and FreeSync Premium. It will also feature the proprietary motion smoothing technology for games, namely Game Motion Plus. In terms of motion smoothness at its price point, the M80H could simply be unrivalled.

Samsung Vision AI: Intelligence in a Budget Version

The M80 model belongs to a new, broad group of products marked as Samsung Vision AI. What does this magical phrase mean? Unlike cheaper, “ordinary” series, this device is equipped with special features based on artificial intelligence. There are plenty of marketing slogans here, and it makes no sense to list them all, but you can count on intelligent image scaling and scene optimisation features that until now were reserved exclusively for higher series.

Prices of the Samsung M80H model: Is it worth it?

The prices of the M80 model are already known from the American market and, when converted to PLN (taking into account the market realities), they appear exceptionally attractive.

QN80H: Refreshed Neo QLED series

Many of you might have thought that the new Mini-LED models from the M series would completely replace the Neo QLED line, but that will not happen. Samsung has officially announced a refresh of this popular family, with the main representative for 2026 being the model QN80H. This is a television that we will purchase in a record range of sizes, as the offering starts from the classic 55 inches and goes up to a powerful 100-inch panel.

Unlike the cheaper M series, the QN80H model is equipped with Mini LED Full Array technology supported by quantum dots. This means that it is only from this model in the LCD segment that we can expect genuinely better black quality and precise zone dimming. The image processing is handled by the well-known NQ4 AI Gen2 processor.

Gaming novelty: DLG 240Hz

For gamers, Samsung has prepared something extra. In addition to the already standard 144Hz refresh rate, the QN80H model features the DLG 240Hz system. This technology allows the television to switch to a lower resolution mode (Full HD) in exchange for achieving an astounding refresh rate of 240 frames per second. This is a feature that should primarily delight PC gamers with powerful graphics cards.

Prices of the Samsung QN80H Model (Estimated)

Starting prices seem to be higher than in the M series, but correspond to the capabilities of the televisions in the Neo QLED series.

The Frame Pro (2026) in a new size

The last model that was officially announced by Samsung for 2026 is the new The Frame Pro. However, if you were hoping for a technological revolution here, I must temper your expectations. In reality, this television is mainly refreshed with a new Smart TV system, and that's essentially where the updates end.

We will still be dealing with a matte screen Glare Free, which brilliantly handles reflections, and with a wireless One Connect module that allows you to hide all the cables. Of course, the interchangeable frames feature remains unchanged, so visually it is still the same artistic concept.

The Frame Pro for the first time in 55"

The only real novelty is the fact that the “Pro” model will now be available in a 55-inch size. This is significant because the 2025 variant only started at 65 inches, which was an insurmountable barrier for many people, forcing them to purchase the standard version of The Frame with the wired One Connect box. So, if any of you want to buy a slightly better and more refined version of the artistic television but have less space in your living room, you will finally have that opportunity.
