Samsung confirms: in 2026, significantly smaller Micro RGB televisions!

Calendar 12/17/2025

Samsung Micro RGB 2026 – new RGB LED TVs in sizes from 55 to 115 inches. Micro RGB technology, 100 percent BT.2020 coverage, AI features and ambitions to challenge OLED.

Samsung's response to LG's move. Just a few hours after LG Electronics unveiled its first RGB LED television, Samsung Electronics made its own move. The Korean giant confirmed that in 2026 it will significantly expand its Micro RGB television offering, making this technology available in a much wider range of sizes.

Six diagonals instead of one giant. The new line, which does not yet have an official model name, will include screens with diagonals of 55, 65, 75, 85, 100, and 115 inches. This is a huge change compared to the current offering, which is limited to one, 115-inch model. Samsung announces that each of the new televisions will receive a personalised Micro RGB module and an advanced chipset, aimed at increasing brightness and improving colour accuracy.

What is Micro RGB technology

MicroRGB is the name that Samsung gives to its RGB LED technology, which is an extension of Mini-LED. Unlike classic solutions such as Neo QLED with white and blue backlighting, RGB LED uses independent red, green, and blue diodes. This makes light much easier to control, and the colour palette broader and more accurate. Additional advanced control of local dimming of colours is intended to allow new televisions to achieve 100 percent coverage of the BT.2020 colour space. Microscopic LED modules will work with the new Micro RGB AI Engine Pro processor, which will provide precise frame-by-frame image control.

New processor and AI features

Samsung announces its own image processing algorithms that take care of natural colours and maintain sharpness. Among the features will be Colour Booster and advanced HDR modes that enhance contrast and dynamics of the image. Complementing these will be the 4K AI Upscaling Pro and AI Motion Enhancer Pro technologies. A reflection-free image and a full premium package. The new Micro RGB televisions will also have a Glare Free coating, reducing reflections from daylight and indoor lighting. Samsung has confirmed support for HDR10+, Dolby Atmos, Q-Symphony, Adaptive Sound, and the Eclipsa Audio format, a competitive surround sound system co-created by the company.

The price remains a mystery

At the moment, we do not know the prices, but the very scale of the planned offer suggests that Samsung sees Micro RGB as a real alternative to OLED and wants to gradually increase its availability. The current 115-inch model costs around 32 thousand dollars, placing it beyond the reach of most consumers. Traditionally, however, smaller diagonals tend to be significantly cheaper, so we can hope that the 55 and 65-inch variants will prove to be more affordable.

More information will be available at CES 2026. We are expected to learn details regarding the specifications, prices, and availability of Micro RGB televisions next month during the CES 2026 trade show.
