Samsung adds its first WOLED monitor to its range!

Calendar 7/10/2026

For years Samsung has been developing its own QD-OLED technology, but the latest launch shows the company does not intend to limit itself solely to its own solutions. Three new OLED monitors have just gone on sale, and one of them will go down in the firm's history as the first model to use a WOLED panel from LG Display.

Samsung follows in the footsteps of its OLED TVs

The newcomer is the Samsung G73SH monitor, which, according to FlatpanelsHD's editors, is based on a WOLED panel manufactured by LG Display. This is the first such design in the history of Samsung monitors. However, the decision is not entirely surprising. The company has been following a similar strategy for several years in its OLED TVs, where, depending on the model and size, it uses both its own QD-OLED panels and WOLED panels.

G73SH was designed primarily with gamers in mind. It offers 4K resolution, a 165 Hz refresh rate and a 330 Hz mode when switched to Full HD.

New QD-OLEDs and a clear signal for the market

At the same time, Samsung has started selling the G80SH models in 27-inch and 32-inch versions. The monitors feature 4th-generation QD-OLED panels with 4K resolution and a 240 Hz refresh rate. The manufacturer has fitted a matte screen coating, HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 ports, and a USB-C port with up to 98 W power delivery. HDR10+ Gaming is also supported.

Although the launch of new monitors is important in itself, an even more interesting development is the direction the entire OLED market is taking. Samsung is increasingly willing to use panels from its biggest rival, something that would have seemed unlikely just a few years ago. All indications are that, faced with growing competition from Chinese manufacturers, the boundaries between the traditional rivals are beginning to blur.
