Samsung has been a leader in the OLED monitor market for years, primarily due to its own QD-OLED panels. However, there is increasing talk about something that not long ago seemed unlikely – that the company is preparing monitors based on WOLED technology. And, interestingly, the panels do not necessarily have to come from LG Display.
FlatpanelsHD had previously heard these reports, but only now have truly credible pieces of information emerged. From leaks from the Chinese source Channelgate, as described by WCCFTech, a list of Samsung monitor models for 2026 is taking shape: S27HG612SC (27” G61SH), S27HG802SC (27” G80SH), S32HG802SC (32” G80SH) and S27HG702WC (27” G70SH). Importantly, the naming conventions align with what had already leaked regarding Samsung OLED televisions for 2026 – the series is set to transition from the “G” designation to “H”, such as S95H, S90H, and S85H.
WOLED in Samsung – but from whom?
The most interesting model appears to be the S27HG702WC, which is expected to hit the market around June 2026. This will be Samsung's first monitor with a WOLED panel, featuring 4K resolution and a dual-mode of 165/330 Hz. It would be logical to assume that the panel comes from LG Display – especially since the Koreans have been producing OLED panels with dual refresh rates (165/300 Hz) for years. However, the situation is starting to get complicated. In August, The Elec reported that Samsung is in talks with the Chinese manufacturer BOE regarding the supply of WOLED panels for monitors. Moreover, Samsung reportedly also asked BOE about the possibility of producing WOLED panels for televisions.
If this is confirmed, it would mark a significant shift in the market – WOLED would no longer be the domain of LG Display, and Samsung would become independent of two competitors at once. Currently, all of Samsung's OLED monitors use QD-OLED panels, while in televisions, the company mixes technologies: depending on the model and diagonal, it uses either QD-OLED or WOLED. The reason is straightforward – Samsung Display is unable to meet the entire demand of the TV department. Meanwhile, the market for OLED monitors is growing at an astonishing rate – according to TrendForce, by as much as 86% year on year in 2025. It’s no wonder that Samsung is preparing an offensive.
Leaks Regarding Samsung Monitors for 2026
According to Channelgate (machine translation), the launch schedule looks as follows:
Week 1
S27FG604SC – 27-inch QD-OLED 2K 500 Hz monitor. This is a variant of the G60SF series, with one less USB cable than the 602SC model.
Week 6
S27HG612SC – 27” QD-OLED 2K 240 Hz. A simplified version of G61SD, without height adjustment and rotation.
Week 17
S27HG802SC and S32HG802SC – QD-OLED 4K 240 Hz in sizes 27” and 32”. Compared to G80SD, they add 90 W USB-C charging and switch to DisplayPort 2.1.
Week 20
S27HG702WC – Samsung's first WOLED monitor, 4K 165 Hz + FHD 330 Hz mode.
What does it mean?
If the leaks are confirmed, Samsung is preparing for 2026 the biggest revolution in its monitor offering to date:
QD-OLED will still be the foundation of the premium series, but expanded with newer ports and USB-C 90 W,
the long-awaited 32” 4K 240 Hz QD-OLED will finally appear,
and the cherry on top will be WOLED from… someone. LG Display? BOE? Or maybe both?
One thing is certain – the OLED monitor market is entering a completely new stage, where not only technology but also the supply chain can change the balance of power. In 2026, Samsung intends to fight for every segment.
