Naughty Dog is working on two projects set in the world of The Last of Us. Neil Druckmann confirmed this in a statement released to mark this year's The Last of Us Day. For now, however, it is not clear exactly what either project will entail.
Druckmann said the studio is developing two projects that expand The Last of Us canon beyond the events depicted in the series' first and second instalments. However, the work is at a very early stage, so Naughty Dog has not revealed details about their format.
It has also not been confirmed whether these are full-fledged games, spin-offs, DLCs or projects intended for other media. The studio also did not announce the platforms or release dates. We didn't hear that The Last of Us Part III is coming, but nobody can take away our hope 😉.
Naughty Dog continues to actively develop a new IP, namely Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, announced at The Game Awards 2024. No specific release date has been announced for it either. So we'll have to wait for more news. It's certainly worth following the developers' social media accounts.
