If you haven't had the chance to check out what the legendary studio Bungie has been working on over the past few years, you need to act quickly. The ongoing "Server Slam" for the game Marathon is relentlessly coming to an end. These are the last hours in which anyone interested can enter the world of Tau Ceti IV for free and see for themselves whether the new production from the creators of Halo and Destiny will live up to the expectations placed upon it.
Why is it worth jumping into the beta right now?
The current tests, dubbed "Server Slam" by the creators, are not only an opportunity for some free fun but also a chance to earn unique items that will be assigned to your account upon release. Participants can explore two maps: Perimeter and Dire Marsh, as well as test five out of six available "Runner Shells" (special armours with various abilities) at launch. Bungie has also introduced a proximity voice chat system, allowing for uncertain alliances with encountered players – or their brutal severance at the least expected moment.
The last call before the big premiere
Remember that the servers will be shut down already on Monday morning (2 March), so Sunday is the last full day to test the game without incurring any costs. This is crucial because the full version of the game, which will debut on 5 March 2026, will be a paid title. If you are planning to purchase it on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC, today's tests are the best way to see how your machine handles the unique, neon graphic style of "graphic realism" and whether Bungie's shooting model is still as sweet as in their previous hits.
