Have two JBL Flip 7s? They can now double as rear speakers for your home cinema.

JBL announced the new generation of Cinema SB MK2 soundbars. The most interesting feature is SurroundPlay, which allows two portable JBL Flip 7 speakers to be used as wireless rear channels for a home cinema setup. The new soundbars will arrive in selected markets on 1 October.

Two Flip 7s as rear channels

SurroundPlay will allow you to connect a soundbar to compatible JBL speakers that can serve as rear channels. To start, JBL is specifically recommending a pair of Flip 7s. It's an interesting option for people who already own two such speakers. Instead of buying separate rear speakers, you can use your existing equipment to create a more immersive surround setup for your TV.

Four new soundbars

JBL has prepared four Cinema SB MK2 models: SB595MK2, SB580MK2, SB550MK2 and SB510MK2. The most advanced SB595MK2 offers a 3.1.2 configuration, two upward-firing drivers and a wireless subwoofer. It also supports Dolby Atmos. Dolby Atmos is also available in the SB580MK2, while the cheaper SB550MK2 and SB510MK2 use Dolby Audio. The new series is therefore aimed at people who want to improve the sound of their TV without building a full home cinema with an AV receiver and a set of separate speakers.

Premieres this October

JBL has announced it will begin selling its new soundbars in selected markets on 1 October 2026. The manufacturer has not yet given Polish prices or a specific availability date for Poland.
