The weekend is the ideal time to try out new games without spending any money. Microsoft has once again prepared its Free Play Days offer, allowing players to try several high-profile titles completely free. Among them are both major hits and smaller indie games. Some titles are available to all Xbox users, while others require an active Game Pass Ultimate, Premium or Essential subscription. It's a good opportunity to find out whether it's worth getting the full versions of these games.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Diablo IV available for free
The biggest attraction of this edition of Free Play Days is Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. All Xbox users can try the title for free from 2 to 6 July. As part of the trial, players get access to the multiplayer mode and Zombies. You can play on more than 45 maps, including new locations added in the fourth season. Popular game modes such as Team Deathmatch and Domination are also available. The second major release is Diablo IV, which can be tested until 7 July. Blizzard has made the full campaign available with the option to level characters up to level 30. A new season, Death Awakening, has also launched during the free period, with additional activities and rewards. After the trial ends, all progress will be retained after purchase. Microsoft is also encouraging taking advantage of limited-time promotions that let you buy Diablo IV at a 40 per cent discount. It's one of the most interesting offers for fans of action and RPG games in recent weeks.
There was also no shortage of indie games
The Free Play Days lineup also includes several smaller titles. Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure is available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential subscribers until 5 July. The game lets you explore a mysterious island, build your own base, develop a farm and cooperate with other players online. Meanwhile, Demonschool and The Stone of Madness can be tried as two-hour trials. The first of these is a tactical RPG featuring demon combat, while the second focuses on stealth and escaping an 18th-century monastery. All games included in the promotion can then be purchased at discounted prices. Any achievements and saved progress are preserved. This allows players to seamlessly continue playing after the free period ends. Microsoft regularly runs similar promotions, offering the chance to test new titles at no extra cost.
The new edition of Free Play Days brings a number of very strong picks, topped by Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Diablo IV. In addition to these, players can also try out indie games and take advantage of attractive discounts when buying the full versions. It's a great opportunity to test new titles over the weekend without any extra cost.
