Epson has unveiled three new projectors in the Home Cinema series. The LS5000, LS6000 and LS7500 use a laser light source and 3LCD technology. All support a 120 Hz refresh rate and display 4K images using pixel shifting.
Epson LS5000, LS6000 and LS7500
The new series includes three models that differ mainly in brightness and installation options. The LS5000 offers 2500 lumens, the LS6000 3400 lumens, and the most expensive LS7500 3500 lumens. All the projectors use three LCD panels. They are not native 4K projectors. Such high resolution is achieved by rapidly shifting the image generated by the panels (pixel shifting), allowing the projector to display more detail than standard Full HD. Epson also had console owners in mind, and each model supports a 120 Hz refresh rate.

LS7500 with a shorter throw
The most attention-grabbing, as you would expect, is the most expensive model. The LS7500 has been fitted with a short-throw lens, allowing you to position the projector closer to the screen than with the LS5000 and LS6000. However, it is not an ultra-short-throw (UST) design. This matters for smaller rooms that we can easily convert into our own home cinema. With a standard projector you might need to place the unit several metres away from the wall. That gives us considerable freedom in positioning the equipment. The LS7500 is also the brightest model.
Prices and availability
In the United States the LS5000 costs $1,999.99, the LS6000 costs $2,199.99 and the LS7500 costs $2,699.99. Epson plans to begin sales at the end of September. So far we have not received Polish prices or a release date for our market.
