Just a few days after the launch of the compact and affordable GV32, BenQ is introducing more serious models – the projectors TK705i and TK705STi. This time, the manufacturer is focusing on significantly higher brightness and performance, which allows the projector to be used during the day without the need to completely darken the living room.
3,000 ANSI lumens – viewing even in full sunlight
Both models are equipped with a laser light source that generates 3,000 ANSI lumens. In comparison, the portable GV32 offered only 500 lumens, which required a darkened room. Here we can expect a sharp and contrasty image even with sunlight streaming into the interior.
Brief Overview or Optical Zoom
BenQ TK705i – has a motorised optical zoom, making it easier to adjust the image to the screen or wall.
BenQ TK705STi – this is a short-throw model that can be placed closer to the wall, which is ideal for smaller flats and limited space.
Aside from that, there are virtually no differences – both projectors display images 4K up to 150 inches and provide the same colour quality.
Colours, gaming and simple setup
BenQ has invested in its proprietary solutions Cinematic Color and HDR-PRO, which cover as much as 98% of the Rec.709 gamut. This ensures vibrant and natural colours during film screenings.
The projectors support HDMI 2.1 and USB-C, and the ALLM (Auto Low-Latency Mode) reduces latency to as little as 5 ms at 4K/60Hz. These are values that gamers will appreciate – both console and PC players.
Onboard, we find the Google TV system with access to Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube, as well as Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi connectivity. Additionally, there is Smart Image Adaptation – a set of features that automatically adjusts the image: zoom, focus, keystone correction, and alignment.
