AOC has provided further information on the AGON PRO AGP257FT monitor, which features a native refresh rate of 1000 Hz. The 24.5-inch screen uses a Fast IPS panel and runs at Full HD resolution. The manufacturer says the monitor will go on sale in the first quarter of 2027.
1000 Hz in Full HD. A monitor aimed at esports
AGON PRO AGP257FT is equipped with a 24.5-inch Fast IPS panel with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. Its native refresh rate is as high as 1000 Hz, and overclocking can raise it to 1050 Hz.
A high refresh rate matters mainly in games where the PC can produce a very large number of frames per second. AOC therefore aims this model primarily at esports players, for whom image smoothness and the shortest possible frame display time are more important than higher resolution. The question is where the limits lie. As we showed in our video, around 600 Hz is perfectly sufficient, even for professional players. Anything above that is often simply a marketing race between brands. Breaking new records still impresses buyers, even if it adds little.
The manufacturer also claims a response time of 0.3 ms GtG. However, this is a value provided by AOC and should not be equated with the result of independent measurements.
