ASUS ROG Strix XG27UCMG is starting to appear in Polish shops. It is a 27-inch Fast IPS monitor whose most interesting feature is Triple Mode. The user can switch between 4K at 240 Hz, QHD at 400 Hz and Full HD at 488 Hz.

Three modes in a single monitor

In its default setting the XG27UCMG operates at a resolution of 3840 × 2160 at 240 Hz. If smoothness is more important, you can switch the panel to 2560 × 1440 at 400 Hz or drop to Full HD, where the refresh rate rises to 488 Hz. The two higher refresh-rate modes are labelled by ASUS as OC. The monitor uses a Fast IPS panel and has a minimum specified response time of 0.3 ms. It supports G-SYNC, FreeSync Premium and ELMB Sync. It also offers HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4 and USB-C. ASUS has also implemented the Smart Pixel feature. It is designed to improve image sharpness at lower resolutions, which is particularly important in the 1440p and Full HD modes.

About PLN 2,200 in Poland

The monitor is already listed by Polish retailers. It is priced at PLN 2,199. At the time of writing (2 October) it was only available for pre-order from a few retailers. Sales should start in a few days.

If everything works smoothly, the monitor could be an interesting option for gamers who split their time between competitive games, where refresh rate matters, and single-player titles, where you tend to prioritise image quality.
