Sony has revealed its July lineup of games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. This time a high-profile shooter from Activision takes centre stage, but it’s not the only new addition. The set also includes two highly rated indie titles that offer completely different experiences. All the titles can be added to your library from 7 July.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III lands on PlayStation Plus
The biggest star of July's lineup is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. Players will get the full Cross-Gen Bundle for PS5 and PS4 consoles. The pack includes the single-player campaign, multiplayer with refreshed maps from 2009's Modern Warfare 2 and the Modern Warfare Zombies mode, where you can fight hordes of enemies in an open world. Although the campaign received mixed reactions after launch, many players appreciated the expanded multiplayer and the Zombies mode. With PlayStation Plus you'll be able to try it all at no extra cost.
Two smaller games can also pleasantly surprise
The second suggestion is For the King II, a cooperative RPG for up to four players. The title combines turn-based combat, roguelite elements and mechanics inspired by classic board games, offering a high degree of randomness and strong replayability. The third title is CrossCode, an acclaimed RPG with pixel-art graphics inspired by 16-bit-era classics. It features dynamic real-time combat, complex puzzles and an engaging story set in a sci-fi world. All three games will be available to PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra and Premium subscribers from 7 July to 3 August.
The July PlayStation Plus lineup looks very solid. The biggest draw is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, but For the King II and CrossCode can also be great picks for those looking for something a bit less obvious.
