Panasonic revealed the first details of its TV range for 2027. OLED will remain a technology reserved for the top models, but the manufacturer also intends to significantly expand the QD-Mini LED range and offer larger screen sizes. For now, however, it has not confirmed a move into RGB Mini LED.
OLED still on top
The current Z95B and Z90B models will remain on sale until the new generation arrives in 2027. This is fairly unusual for Panasonic, as its flagship TVs will be on the market for two years. The company has not yet announced names or prices for the successors, but more information is expected around CES 2027. Panasonic also says that despite the collaboration with Skyworth it will still be responsible for the key elements of picture quality in its premium models. Japanese engineers will be responsible, among other things, for image tuning, its own picture modes and the integration of calibration systems, including Calman. Since 2026, Panasonic’s European TV operations have been developed jointly with Skyworth. The Chinese partner is responsible, among other things, for manufacturing, distribution and logistics, but Panasonic says it will continue to be involved in the development of premium models.
More QD-Mini LED, but what about RGB Mini LED?
The second pillar of the range will be QD-Mini LED TVs. Panasonic wants to expand the lineup and introduce larger screen sizes. It is not known, however, whether we'll see a Panasonic TV with RGB Mini LED in 2027. The manufacturer didn't directly answer questions about that technology. That's particularly interesting as the solution starts appearing in top TVs from rivals. Panasonic is also working on changes to the audio. The 2027 models are set to feature a new DSP algorithm and a revised speaker configuration, though details haven't been disclosed yet.
