AOC has released further information about the AGON PRO AGP257FT monitor, which features a native refresh rate of 1000 Hz. The 24.5-inch screen uses a Fast IPS panel and runs at Full HD resolution. The manufacturer says the monitor will go on sale in the first quarter of 2027.
1000 Hz in Full HD. An esports-focused monitor
The AGON PRO AGP257FT is fitted with a 24.5-inch Fast IPS panel with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. Its native refresh rate is as high as 1000 Hz, and with overclocking it can be increased to 1050 Hz.
A high refresh rate matters primarily in games where the PC can generate a very large number of frames per second. AOC therefore aims this model mainly at esports players, for whom smooth motion and the shortest possible time to display a single frame are more important than higher resolution. The question is, where are the limits? As we showed in our video, around 600 Hz is perfectly sufficient, even for professional players. Anything above that is often just a marketing race between brands. Pushing those boundaries does make an impression on buyers, even if it doesn't add much. The manufacturer also quotes a response time of 0.3 ms GtG. However, that is a value provided by AOC and should not be equated with the result of independent measurements.
