Without fanfare, but confirmed – LG revealed to Tom’s Guide that their 2025 TVs will support Bluetooth Auracast. What does this mean? You can connect several pairs of headphones at the same time – wirelessly, without having to fiddle with settings and without delays. An ideal solution for couples, flatmates, or people with hearing aids who don’t want to make noise at night but want to watch something together.
End of a single Bluetooth connection
Auracast solves the biggest audio problem in TV. Auracast eliminates the classic limitation: one Bluetooth connection at a time. Until now it was “either you or me,” and watching together ended with loud sound from the speakers. Now everyone can listen through headphones – at the same time, without any lag. LG has confirmed that Auracast will be available on all new OLEDs (G5, C5), as well as LCDs like the QNED85A. Audio can also be transmitted to amplifiers and other devices. Sounds good.
Samsung was first, but LG is hitting the ground running
Technology isn't mandatory, but more and more companies are adding it. Samsung added Auracast to its flagship models two years ago – and hasn't looked back. LG had remained practically silent until now, despite collaborating with Starkey (the manufacturer of smart hearing aids). Now it's clear that they are taking the topic seriously. Auracast isn't a mandatory standard in Bluetooth, so it depends on the goodwill of the manufacturer. Fortunately, it seems that this goodwill is finally coming to light.
