LG Electronics has announced a significant update to the LG Gaming Portal – a gaming platform available on Smart TVs featuring the webOS system. As part of the new update, several new games are being added to the service, some of which can be operated solely using the Magic Remote remote control, without the need to connect a console or additional controller.

Just Dance Now on LG TVs

One of the most interesting new features is Just Dance Now, which has launched on LG TVs with webOS 22 or newer. The game is already available in the USA, Australia, Sweden, and Norway, and will be rolling out to additional markets in the coming weeks. This is the result of a collaboration between LG and Ubisoft. Players can compete against each other by performing dance choreographies without the use of a console. Movements are tracked by the motion sensors in the Magic Remote, which supports multiple players at once.

Voice-Controlled Games from ChooseTV

LG is also expanding its range of voice-controlled games through a partnership with Volley. Titles such as the popular quiz show Jeopardy! and original productions like Song Quiz are coming to the choose.tv platform. These are games designed for shared gameplay in the living room, where all interaction occurs via voice commands.

Asphalt Legends Unite and new cloud games

Racing fans can also reach for Asphalt Legends Unite, which has landed on LG televisions in the USA thanks to a partnership with the Blacknut platform. The game is available for free with ads and unlocks all cars and tracks from the very start. Blacknut is also introducing a new title My Little Puppy – an adventure game telling the emotional story of a dog growing up and experiencing the different stages of its life.

LG also showcased a new app LG Mobile Gamepad for Android and iOS. It allows you to turn your smartphone into a fully functional game controller supported by the Gaming Portal, eliminating the need to purchase an additional pad.

LG Gaming Portal – over 4 thousand games

LG Gaming Portal debuted at the start of this year on the webOS system and is currently available in 30 countries. The service works on OLED, QNED, as well as selected LG gaming monitors with webOS 6.0 or newer. The platform launched in collaboration with Xbox, offering access to the Xbox app and the Game Pass Ultimate library, as well as other cloud gaming services. In August, LG added support for gaming in 4K at 120 Hz.

According to the manufacturer, Gaming Portal now offers access to over 4,000 games streamed from the cloud and over 600 casual titles that can be launched on an LG TV using just the Magic Remote.
