LG Display presents Dual View OLED – a screen that will show different content to the driver and passenger simultaneously!

Calendar 11/19/2025

LG Dual View OLED – a revolutionary in-car display! One panel, two completely different images at the same time. See how this CES 2026 award-winning technology works.

LG Display is racking up more CES Innovation Awards – and for technologies that could completely change how we use screens in cars. The company received accolades for two new solutions: Dual View OLED and Under Display Camera–infrared OLED (UDC-IR OLED). Both were recognised for their space-saving features, high image quality, and compliance with stringent automotive standards.

Dual View OLED – one screen, two worlds

The most interesting feature is definitely Dual View OLED. This is the first display that can show different images to different people, depending on their position in the car.

An example?

The driver sees navigation and vehicle indicators.

The passenger next to them – at the same time, on the same screen – is watching Netflix.

And what if they end up in the back row? Every passenger can watch something different simultaneously. No additional tablets, no extra screens – complete personalisation without taking up space in the cockpit.

Moreover, the panel supports touch. LG Display has optimised the structure of OLED pixels so that the touch of one user does not affect the screen for the other. If a passenger is scrolling through a movie? The driver still sees perfectly stable route data. This could be one of the most interesting automotive gadgets at CES 2026.

UDC-IR OLED – screen with an invisible camera

The second award-winning innovation is UDC-IR OLED, a full-screen panel for navigation systems… with a hidden driver-monitoring camera under the display.

And not just any camera – it’s a high-resolution IR camera with image correction software from LG Innotek. It is completely invisible and enhances the freedom of cockpit design, as it does not require any physical cutouts.

LG Display emphasizes that in the future, many countries may require mandatory driver monitoring systems (e.g., drowsiness detection). Such a panel elegantly addresses this issue without compromising the appearance of the dashboard.

With greater light permeability in the camera area, the sensor can look directly through the screen. It’s futuristic, yet very practical.

CES 2026 looks impressive for LG

It’s worth mentioning that the parent company – LG Electronics – also scooped several CES Innovation Awards this year, including for:

  • the first Micro RGB TV,

  • the transparent OLED T 77’’,

  • the mobile display LG StanbyMe 2,

  • the UltraFine evo 6K with Thunderbolt 5.

LG Display confirms that the Dual View OLED and UDC-IR OLED will be showcased live at the mobility technology booth during CES 2026 in Las Vegas.

If these solutions indeed work as well as the manufacturer describes – we might be a step away from a new era of automotive displays.
