LG delivers a gigantic Ribbon Board to the Atlético de Madrid stadium!

LG installs a massive Ribbon Board at Atlético de Madrid’s stadium. New Mesh LED technology transforms the fan experience.

G Electronics presents one of the largest and most impressive digital signage installations in Europe. At the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium – the home ground of Atlético de Madrid – since the start of the 2025/26 La Liga season, a massive, surrounding Ribbon Board built on innovative LG Mesh LED technology has been in operation.

Over 1,700 m² of dynamic visualisations

The installation covers 1,742 m² of area, wrapping around the upper part of the stadium in the form of a luminous ribbon. Real-time scores, statistics, and content are displayed, aimed not only at informing but also at heating up the atmosphere of the match and motivating fans from all sides of the stadium.

Mesh LED – technology tailored for sports arenas

The heart of the project is the Mesh LED screen – an ultra-lightweight, flexible module system that can be installed even at heights or on curved surfaces. As a result, it not only looks great but also provides:

  • exceptional brightness and contrast,

  • readability even in full sunlight,

  • low heat emission and reduced energy consumption.

This solution perfectly meets the requirements of modern stadiums that must be both impressive and energy-efficient.

Over 3,000 m² of additional signage

LG didn't stop at the Ribbon Board. Throughout the venue, there are over 3,000 m² of additional screens, including in the entry areas, corridors, in the tunnel leading players onto the pitch, and in the press centre. The whole setup creates a cohesive visual environment – from the moment a fan enters the stadium to the final whistle.

LG – leader in the sports signage market

In Spain, LG supplies LED signage to around 80% of professional football stadiums, and its technologies also operate in the largest venues in the world, such as Wembley and Twickenham in the UK, as well as arenas in Germany, Belgium, and the USA.

According to data from Omdia, the global LED signage market – including sports installations – is expected to grow at a rate of 13.4% annually and exceed a value of 14 trillion KRW by 2029.

LG demonstrates that the stadium of the 21st century is no longer just a pitch and stands – it is a complete visual experience, which begins even before the first whistle. Innovative LED screens are changing the way fans experience sport, while opening new communication and advertising opportunities for clubs and sponsors.
