Naughty Dog is working on two projects connected to the world of The Last of Us. Neil Druckmann confirmed this in a statement released for this year’s The Last of Us Day. For now, it’s not clear exactly what either project will be.
Druckmann has said the studio is developing two projects expanding the canon of The Last of Us beyond the events depicted in the first and second instalments of the series. Work is still at a very early stage, though, so Naughty Dog has not revealed details about their format.
It also hasn't been confirmed whether these are full-fledged games, spin-offs, expansions or projects intended for other media. The studio didn't announce the platforms or release dates. We haven't heard that The Last of Us Part III will be released, but no one can take away our hope 😉.
Naughty Dog continues to actively develop a new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, announced at The Game Awards 2024. In this case we also don't have details on a specific release date. We'll have to wait a bit longer for more news. It's definitely worth following the developers' social channels.
