LG has unveiled its new OLED TVs for 2026 at CES 2026. There's no revolution in the form of HDMI 2.2 or Dolby Vision 2, but there is a very important change that users have been waiting for years. For the first time, the top-tier Tandem OLED panel will not be reserved exclusively for the G series. It will also be available in the popular C6 series. At least in part.
Tandem OLED remains king. G6 takes it a step further
As every year, LG saves its best technologies for the G series. The G6 model will feature the second generation of the 4-layer Tandem WOLED matrix, referred to by the manufacturer as Hyper Radiant Color Technology. According to LG, the new panel offers:
up to 20% higher peak brightness than last year’s G5
even 3.9x higher brightness than B6 in a 10% window
significantly better energy efficiency and a wider colour range
Everything suggests that the brightness of the G6 will exceed 3000 nits, although there are no official, confirmed measurements yet. From tests of previous generations of Tandem OLED, such as the LG G5, we know that these are some of the brightest and most spectacular OLED matrices on the market.
Another new feature in the G6 is the new panel structure and anti-reflective coating, which is designed to reduce reflections by about half, without losing deep blacks. This is a clear signal towards QD-OLEDs, which can appear grey in bright rooms. It is worth noting that this technology applies to sizes of 55, 65, 77, and 83 inches – not 48 inches.
LG C6 with a panel like the LG G6. Tandem OLED in the world's most popular TV series
The biggest and most surprising news, however, concerns the C series. LG officially did not dedicate much attention to it during the pre-CES briefing, but it has been confirmed that the LG C6 will finally get a Tandem OLED panel in 2026. However, there is a key catch. The improved, 4-layer Tandem OLED panel will be available exclusively for the largest variants:
77 inches
83 inches
This refers to the model referred to as C6H, which is set to receive a version of the Tandem OLED panel, probably slightly simplified compared to the G6. Nevertheless, this will be a huge leap in quality for the C series – the biggest in its history. Higher brightness, better colours, and significantly improved energy efficiency are things that users have been waiting for years.
The standard versions of the C6 and the cheaper CS6 will not receive the new panel. Meanwhile, the B6 series also sticks with classic OLED, although LG is introducing an additional B6E variant, very similar to last year's B5. At this moment, it is unknown which markets will receive the C6H variant with the Tandem OLED panel. LG has not confirmed regional availability, so differences between Europe, the USA, and Asia are possible.
Alpha 11 Gen 3 Processor and New Features for Gamers
The G6 and C6H models will receive the Alpha 11 Gen 3 processor, which according to LG offers:
50% faster CPU
70% faster GPU
up to 5.6x faster NPU
In practice, this is expected to translate into better image scaling, more effective AI algorithms, and more advanced motion processing. In 2026, LG will also introduce:
4K120 game streaming with Nvidia GeForce Now
Bluetooth ULL with a latency of 1 ms for controllers
support for 4K 120 Hz on consoles and 4K 165 Hz on PC (HDMI 2.1)
However, there is still no HDMI 2.2 or Dolby Vision 2. LG is sticking to proven standards, which may be disappointing for some enthusiasts.
Dolby Atmos FlexConnect and Picture Modes
A new feature is Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, which allows for wireless connection of speakers directly to the television. This is a nod to users who want to expand their surround sound without the hassle of cables. However, there is no support for DTS or IMAX Enhanced. A dedicated Ambient Filmmaker Mode also appears, previously available only as a hidden option, along with improved TruMotion with an adaptive motion smoothing level based on content.
What's new in webOS 26
LG, while presenting their OLED televisions for 2026, also showcased webOS 26, the new version of their Smart TV system. There are plenty of changes, although some of them are evolutionary rather than revolutionary. In the LG Gallery+ section, artworks and AI-generated images in collaboration with Google Gemini will appear. Access to this feature requires a subscription that provides a certain number of credits for generating subsequent AI graphics. This expands the concept of the television as a “digital artwork,” already known from previous years, but now strongly supported by generative artificial intelligence.
LG promises that webOS 26 is set to run noticeably faster and smoother. This is good news, as the system has often been criticized in recent years for slowdowns, a cluttered interface, and overly aggressive promotional content. In addition to Google Gemini, LG’s 2026 televisions will also feature Microsoft Copilot. Users will be able to ask the television questions about the content they're watching, as well as completely different topics. How functional and actually helpful this will be will only become clear in testing. When it comes to smart home and content sharing, LG is aiming for full compatibility. webOS 26 supports:
Homey (a platform acquired by LG)
Matter with Thread
Apple Home and AirPlay
Google Cast (Chromecast)
Zigbee
As a result, the television is set to act as a hub for controlling the smart home, regardless of the ecosystem. Importantly, webOS 26 will eventually be available on older LG television models, although the manufacturer has yet to provide a detailed list of compatible devices or a timeline for updates.
The LG OLED 2026 televisions will be available for sale starting this spring. Prices have not yet been announced. Detailed information regarding sizes, variants (G6, C6H, C6, CS6, B6, B6E), and technical specifications can be found in LG’s model database, which the manufacturer refers to. One thing is certain – 2026 promises to be one of the more interesting years for LG OLEDs, especially if the C6H variant with the Tandem OLED panel actually reaches key markets.

LG C6 with a Tandem OLED panel is undoubtedly one of the most important premieres at CES 2026. For the first time, the groundbreaking technology known from the G series is making its way into the most popular series of OLEDs in the world. However, it is important to keep in mind the limitations – only the largest sizes, uncertain market availability, and the lack of complete specifications. If the tests confirm what we already know from models such as the LG G5, C6H in 77 and 83 inch versions may turn out to be one of the most interesting OLED TVs of 2026.
