Sony has recently focused its attention primarily on new televisions using True RGB technology. Many people have started to wonder whether the Japanese manufacturer will limit the development of OLED models in favour of a new generation of LCD screens. However, the latest reports suggest a completely different scenario. Information has surfaced indicating preparations for the launch of a new series of OLED televisions called Bravia 6. If the rumours prove to be true, Sony could significantly expand its offering and target a more affordable segment of the market.
A leak suggests a new OLED series from Sony
The first information about Bravia 6 surfaced thanks to posts found in certification databases from several countries. Additionally, the name of the new series was spotted on Sony's technical support pages, where it appeared in a list of compatible wall mounts. This detail caught the attention of market observers. According to available data, the TVs are expected to come in sizes of 48, 55, 65, 77, and 83 inches. Such a range of sizes suggests the use of WOLED panels, which are widely employed in OLED TVs from various manufacturers. The name Bravia 6 indicates that the new line would be positioned lower than the current Bravia 8 models. This would mean more attractive prices for customers seeking OLED technology without having to spend amounts typical of the premium segment. There is speculation in the industry that Sony may use new OLED SE panels, which allow for lower production costs. However, there is currently no official confirmation of such information. History shows that similar leaks regarding Sony TVs often appeared many months prior to their release. This was the case, for instance, with the Bravia 7 II and Bravia 9 II models. Therefore, some experts believe that the debut of Bravia 6 is highly likely. If it happens, Sony may strongly target the mid-range segment of the OLED market for the first time in a long time.

For many gamers, this would be a significant change. Currently, even some more expensive Sony televisions offer only two HDMI 2.1 sockets, which has been criticised by users with multiple modern devices simultaneously. Four ports would allow for the easy connection of a PlayStation 5 console, Xbox Series X, gaming PC, and receiver without the need to swap cables. This solution has been utilised by some competitors for years and is often mentioned as one of the biggest advantages over Sony televisions. Additionally, the Pentonic 800 provides modern features related to high refresh rate support and VRR technology. As a result, the Bravia 6 could become an appealing option for gamers seeking an OLED television at a more reasonable price. For now, all this information should be treated as unconfirmed reports. Sony has not announced a new series nor commented on the leaks. Nonetheless, the number of hints is increasing week by week. This has led to more people anticipating an official presentation before the end of 2026.
