Apple reported record financial results for the third quarter of fiscal 2026, which ended on 27 June. The company posted double-digit revenue growth in its key product categories and across all regions worldwide. Earnings per share, cash flows and the number of active Apple devices in use by customers were also at record levels.
Apple recorded record revenue and its highest profit for the June quarter
Apple's revenue in the quarter ended totalled $109.4 billion, an increase of 16 per cent compared with the same period last year. Gross margin reached 50.1 per cent, and roughly two percentage points of that result were due to the positive impact of customs duty refunds. Diluted earnings per share rose to $2.02, an improvement of 29 per cent year-on-year. Apple emphasises that this result was also partly boosted by the customs duty refund, which accounted for an additional $0.11 per share. CEO Tim Cook noted that this was the company's best June quarter ever. The iPhone, Mac and Services segments posted particularly strong growth. Double-digit growth was also seen across all geographic regions where Apple operates. The company also highlighted the unveiling at WWDC26 of a new version of Siri using artificial intelligence, together with further features enhancing child safety. All of these elements are intended to be an important pillar for the continued development of Apple's ecosystem.
Record number of active devices and another dividend for shareholders
Chief financial officer Kevan Parekh said the past quarter was a record not only for revenue but also for earnings per share and operating cash flow. At the same time, the number of active Apple devices reached the highest level in the company's history. Records were set across all major product categories and in every market where the brand operates. Apple's board also announced a dividend of $0.27 per ordinary share. The funds will be paid to shareholders on 13 August 2026, with entitlements going to those on the register at the close of business on 10 August. The financial results were discussed at a special investor conference held on 30 July and broadcast live. Apple also made a recording of the entire meeting available, which will be accessible for around two weeks. The record results show the company maintains a very strong position despite the challenging conditions in the global tech market. For investors, it's another sign confirming the company's steady growth and strong demand for its products and services.
Apple closed the third quarter of fiscal 2026 with record revenue, net income and number of active devices. The biggest contributors were rising iPhone and Mac sales and growth in the services segment.
