ASUS ROG Strix XG27UCMG is starting to appear in Polish shops. It's a 27-inch Fast IPS monitor whose most interesting feature is Triple Mode. The user can switch between 4K at 240 Hz, QHD at 400 Hz and Full HD at 488 Hz.
Three modes in one monitor
In its default configuration the XG27UCMG runs at 3840 × 2160 at 240 Hz. If smoothness is more important, you can switch the panel to 2560 × 1440 at 400 Hz or drop to Full HD, where the refresh climbs to 488 Hz. The two higher-frequency modes are labelled by ASUS as OC. The monitor uses a Fast IPS panel and has a quoted minimum response time of 0.3 ms. It supports G-SYNC, FreeSync Premium and ELMB Sync. We also get HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4 and USB-C. ASUS has also implemented a Smart Pixel feature. It's designed to improve image sharpness when using lower resolutions, which is particularly relevant in the 1440p and Full HD modes.

About 2,200 zł in Poland
The monitor is already listed by Polish retailers. It’s priced at 2,199 zł. At the time of writing (2 October) it’s only available for pre-order at a few stores. Sales should start in a few days.
If everything runs smoothly, the monitor could be an interesting option for gamers who split their time between competitive games, where high refresh rates matter, and single-player titles, where we tend to prioritise image quality.
