Hisense has unveiled an upgraded version of its flagship ultra-short-throw projector. The new L9Q Pro offers brightness of up to 5,500 ANSI lumens, an image up to 200 inches diagonally and support for Dolby Vision. The manufacturer also promises improved contrast and a wider colour gamut.

Hisense L9Q Pro uses TriChroma technology, meaning three separate lasers responsible for the red, green and blue colours. Compared with its predecessor, the stated brightness increases from 5000 to 5500 ANSI lumens, and contrast from 5000:1 to 6000:1. The manufacturer also promises improved colour reproduction and a seven-step adaptive iris that adjusts the light output to the scene being displayed.

200 inches, Dolby Vision and sound by Devialet

Thanks to its ultra short throw design, the projector can be placed close to the wall to produce a picture with a diagonal from 80 to 200 inches. A new feature is Lens Shift, allowing optical vertical image adjustment without having to move the device. The L9Q Pro supports 4K UHD resolution and Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and IMAX Enhanced. It also includes advanced audio. Hisense has implemented a 6.2.2 system with Dolby Atmos, developed in collaboration with Devialet. The whole unit runs on VIDAA, providing access to popular streaming apps.

Availability

The new projector is set to hit German stores in mid-October 2026. Its recommended price is €5,999. In Poland it's already available for pre-order and costs around 25,000 zł.

The specs look impressive, but the question remains whether the higher brightness and improved contrast will actually translate into a noticeably better picture. We'll only know that after independent tests.
