YouTube introduces the first-ever Recap for watched videos!

Calendar 12/3/2025

YouTube Recap 2025 – the first-ever summary of your watched videos. Explore new personalized cards, viewer personality types, and the year’s top creators.

The end of the year is a time when various platforms present their summaries a la Spotify Wrapped. This time YouTube enters the game – but not the music one. The service has just launched the first summary in history based solely on the videos watched on the main platform, regardless of YouTube Music.

What does the new YouTube Recap contain?

Users will receive up to 12 personalized cards showing:

  • most-watched channels,

  • dominant interest themes,

  • changes in viewing habits,

  • assigned “viewer personality type.”

Among the viewer types, we will find, among others:

  • Skill Builder — individuals who watch content that develops skills,

  • Sunshiner — those who prefer positive materials,

  • Trailblazer — viewers searching for original content and breaking patterns.

There are also types such as Wonder Seeker, Connector, and Dreamer.

YouTube introduces Recap for the main platform – a personalized year-end summary with top channels, trends, and viewing habits. Replay 2025 from Apple Music – a complete summary of your listening year, favorite genres, and statistics from the first day in the service.

Although the Recap on the main platform also includes music charts, more detailed data regarding songs and artists can still be found in the YouTube Music app. The new summary is available starting today for users in North America, and it will be globally available this week. It can be found on the YouTube homepage or in the "You" tab, both on mobile devices and computers.

YouTube emphasizes that the feature was created at the explicit request of users and underwent over 50 concept tests before reaching its final form.

What's new in Apple Music Replay 2025?

Apple has also released this year's edition of Apple Music Replay, its equivalent of Wrapped. This year, the summary gains new metrics regarding listening habits. In addition to the classic lists of favorite songs, artists, and albums, Replay also shows:

  • Discovery — new artists discovered by the user,

  • Loyalty — artists that the listener returns to most often,

  • Comebacks — creators who have made a return to rotation after a break.

Users will also see:

  • the total number of minutes listened,

  • the number of artists they listened to,

  • the longest streak of listening to a single artist,

  • favorite genres and detailed statistics for the year.

YouTube Recap vs. Apple Music Replay – the platforms are launching their year-end summaries ahead of the release of Spotify Wrapped. Most popular creators 2025: MrBeast, Joe Rogan, and Bruno Mars. Check out the full rankings on YouTube Recap and Apple Music Replay.

Replay can be launched from the "Home" tab in Apple Music. Apple also allows browsing of monthly summaries and previous years, as well as the "Replay All Time" list – songs played most frequently since joining the service. Artists will receive additional metrics, including increases in listenership and year-over-year comparisons.

Replay 2025 appears a week after YouTube Recap and on the same day as the Amazon Music roundup.
