Will Samsung expand QD-OLED to new sizes? First leaks from the parts database!

Calendar 12/2/2025

Samsung expands QD-OLED to new screen sizes — leaks reveal the upcoming S95H and S90H models for 2026. Find out which sizes will get the premium panel and which will stay on WOLED.

For now, this is still not an official announcement, but it has become quite loud in the corridors. Posts from Samsung's European parts database have surfaced online, suggesting that the hit QD-OLED panel will not be confined to just one television and one diagonal. If everything is confirmed, we can expect a lot of reshuffling in the S95, S90, and S85 series in 2025 and 2026.

How it is today: QD-OLED only in one S90F

In the current 2025 offering, “real” QD-OLED is available in only one more mass-market model: the 65-inch Samsung S90F. The other sizes of the S90F are based on classic WOLED from LG Display, similar to the lower S85F series. That’s why the 65-inch model with QD-OLED is so often mentioned as the most cost-effective OLED from Samsung.

In short: if you want QD-OLED and aren’t aiming for the more expensive S95F, the choice is simple – 65S90F.

What leaks are saying: 77 inches also with QD-OLED

However, new entries in Samsung's parts database suggest that this state of affairs won't last long. Documents related to next year's and "next-next year's" models indicate that the QD-OLED matrix is also set to be available in 77 inches.

In the S95H family models, the 77-inch versions are described as QD-OLED, just like the 65 and 55 inches. On the other hand, the largest 83 inches and the smaller 48 inches will use WOLED panels. In other words: the premium S95H series will combine both types of matrices, but all popular living room diagonal sizes (55, 65, 77) are set to remain with QD-OLED.

It gets interesting lower down. The S90H series is set to be a mix of QD-OLED and WOLED depending on size and market. The documents clearly show that the 77-inch S90H in some countries has QD-OLED, while the 83, 65, 55, 48, and 42 inches stick with WOLED. This is where we will practically see the slogan "the hit QD-OLED matrix will reach other diagonal sizes" – the 77S90H could become what the 65S90F is today.

S85H and Company: WOLED Holds Its Ground

The lower S85H series, according to leaks, is set to remain fully WOLED, regardless of the screen size. This makes sense from a strategic standpoint: Samsung can more clearly separate the "entry OLED" range from the more advanced QD-OLED models in the S90H and S95H lines. It's also worth noting the slight differences in model designations: alongside the S90H, variations S92H, S93H, and S94H are appearing. They mainly differ in the audio section, cabinet color, and type of stand. Documents reveal that:

  • S90H features Object Tracking Sound Lite,

  • S92H/S93H/S94H utilize full Object Tracking Sound,

  • S95H gets Object Tracking Sound Plus.

So the classic “whoever likes to pay extra for better speakers and finishes will have something to choose from.”

WOLED vs QD-OLED: a mix that could shake things up

For those in the know, this means one thing: in 2026, buying Samsung OLED will require even more careful specification checks. The same "S90H" in 77 inches may have a completely different panel than the 55-inch version sitting right next to it in the store. In fact, in some countries, the 77-inch version may come with either WOLED or QD-OLED, depending on the specific variant number.

From the manufacturer’s perspective, such a mix makes sense. Samsung can fill gaps in its offering, adjust to the availability of panels and prices, while also providing QD-OLED where gamers and movie enthusiasts are most willing to pay extra – specifically in 65 and 77 inches. For the user, however, this means that reviews and precise model designations will be more important than marketing slogans.

Jump in Naming: Again Without the Letter "G"

By the way, leaks confirm something that has been mentioned before: Samsung will again skip the letter "G" in its model years. The current OLEDs are S95F, S90F, and S85F, and in the parts database, S95H, S90H, and S85H are already listed. The company pulled a similar trick a decade ago when it jumped from the F series straight to H.

For someone who follows the series year after year, it's just a curiosity. But for the average buyer, it can be a slight chaos: "F" is 2025, "H" is 2026, and there will be no "G" in between.

For now, rumors, but from a very concrete source

All of this is still unofficial information, of course. We are talking about leaks from Samsung's parts database, not a press release. On the other hand, the list of models is very detailed, covering different markets (QE, GQ, TQ) and includes a breakdown of diagonal combinations, so it's hard to ignore.

If confirmed, the year 2026 could be very interesting for those hunting for QD-OLED in larger sizes. The current "golden child" in the form of 65S90F would then have siblings in the form of 77S90H and the entire S95H line. How far Samsung dares to cut prices and how much it will separate QD-OLED from WOLED S85H? We will only find out with the official announcements.

At this moment, it can be treated as a well-documented piece of gossip from behind the scenes – the kind worth keeping in mind if you are planning to get a larger Samsung OLED in the coming years.
