Samsung shows its flagship television on a stick. Here is the Moving Style Edge!

Calendar 8/4/2025

The new Samsung Moving Style Edge TV with a 32” 4K display and adjustable stand. Perfect for TikTok, Netflix, and remote work.

Samsung finally responds to the quite unusual LG StanbyME television. In South Korea, the Moving Style Edge has just launched — a new Samsung smart TV with a vertical stand that can be placed practically anywhere in the home. Sound familiar? Yes, it's a very similar approach to what LG already showcased at the end of 2023.

Television on a stand? Yes, but Samsung-style

Unlike LG, which built a separate screen for the StanbyME, Samsung decided to take a shortcut: they took their Smart Monitor M7 and added a new dedicated stand to it.

This stand is 81 cm tall, which according to the company is enough to comfortably watch something from the sofa, desk, armchair, or even from the floor if someone likes. The monitor itself is 32 inches, which is more than LG's 27-inch screen. It offers 4K, 300 nits brightness, and 60 Hz, which is fine for YouTube, Netflix, and everyday use, but let’s not kid ourselves – it’s not OLED.

Two models, several colors, and one common feature

Samsung offers two variants:

  • Moving Edge Standard – with an "L" shaped base, for 879,000 won (approximately 479 pounds)

  • Moving Edge Lite – with a simpler "I" base, for 839,000 won (approximately 455 pounds)

Both stands are adjustable and allow for rotating the screen vertically/horizontally, so if someone enjoys TikTok or vertical Reels – they will be pleased. Interesting fact: the screen can be detached and replaced with another Samsung Smart Monitor – even up to 55 inches.

Moreover, there is a wide selection of colors – both for the screen and the stand – as well as optional shelves mounted at the base.

System? Tizen. Touch? No. Battery? Not at all.

The television runs on Tizen, so it has all the streaming apps and integration with SmartThings. Inside: Wi-Fi 5, HDMI, USB, speakers 10W. But – and here’s an important caveat – this is not a tablet. Unlike StanbyME 2 from LG, the Samsung screen:

  • does not have touch

  • does not work without a cable

  • does not have a battery

So you can’t set it up on the balcony and start a movie while lying on a deck chair unless you run an extension cord.

Samsung is also launching the campaign “Moving Style 202” with the slogan “Connect freely, create your own.” There are supposed to be as many as 202 possible combinations if we consider variations of screens, colors, and stands. To start, the company will give away 70 televisions to creators from Korea who will showcase how this device can be used in various contexts – both at home and a bit more “for show.”

For now, there’s no info about the premiere outside of Korea, but given that StanbyME and StanbyME 2 are available globally, the chance for export is quite high.
