Philips says "no" to smaller OLEDs in the UK. Is US also on the way out?

Philips OLED TVs 2025 – no smaller models in the UK, full size range still in Poland. Check OLED810 prices and availability in stores.

Philips does not intend to introduce smaller sizes of its new OLED810 model to the British market. Only the 77-inch version will be available in the UK, despite the fact that in January the company announced that the OLED810 would also be available in 42″, 48″, and 55″ variants. It turns out that these smaller models will only be available on the continent.

OLED810? In the UK only in size XXL

The OLED810 is a mid-range television, positioned below the more advanced OLED910 and OLED950 series. Philips positions it as a competitor to players like the LG C5, Panasonic Z90B, and Samsung S90F. The decision to limit the available sizes may suggest that the brand has rather cautious ambitions in the mid-tier OLED segment – at least in the Islands.

It is not a complete surprise – just a month earlier, the company revealed only the price of the 77" model (£2,199), remaining silent about the smaller versions. Now it is clear why – they simply will not be available in the UK.

WhatHiFi, which first reported this information, suggests that Philips does not see the point in offering smaller OLED810s since it sells a budget model, the OLED760, in similar sizes. Interestingly, this cheaper television has four HDMI 2.1 ports, while the more expensive OLED810 has only two – so it is not entirely obvious for whom this model is actually “better.”

Will US escape the "UK effect"?

The truth is, the U.S. market plays by slightly different rules. While big screens are certainly popular, there's still strong demand for smaller models—especially in city apartments, bedrooms, or multipurpose living spaces where not everyone wants (or can accommodate) a 77-inch giant. That reality might shield the U.S. from the same cuts seen in the UK.

For now, it’s safe to say: America, enjoy the variety while it lasts. A 77-inch TV priced like a 55-inch might sound like a dream deal, but let’s be honest—not every living room is built for a cinema-sized screen.
