Matte OLED not just from Samsung. TCL introduces NXTPAPER to AMOLED displays.

Calendar 3/16/2026

Until now, matte screens in OLED technology were mainly associated with flagship televisions from Samsung (such as the OLED S95F television). However, TCL has decided to challenge this solution by integrating its proprietary NXTPAPER layer with organic panels, but... in mobile devices.

NXTPAPER on AMOLED display

The new generation of screens from TCL uses a so-called circular polarization of light and hardware reduction of blue light emission. The most important element, however, is the anti-reflective layer (Anti-Glare), which has been applied directly to the AMOLED panel. According to the manufacturer, a special nanolithographic matrix and a new light-unifying film have been used here. In practice, it is simply supposed to diffuse sunlight in such a way that the screen resembles a sheet of paper, while maintaining the high contrast typical of OLED diodes.

Paper Texture Thanks to Nanolithography

The exceptional appearance and "feel" of the new screen are thanks to an advanced nanolithographic layer and a new light uniformity film. Together, these components replicate the texture of real paper. The system has been enhanced with a reading adaptive optimization feature that automatically adjusts the color temperature and screen parameters to the surroundings, simulating the look of a book page depending on whether we are sitting by a bedside lamp or on the terrace. The new screens are set to reach the upcoming tablets and smartphones from the manufacturer.
