Next to models referred to as "Micro RGB," which are also LCD televisions, LG will introduce for the first time in 2026 LCD televisions from the QNED series in sizes reaching up to 115 inches. Although LG is clearly focusing on OLED technology, the company does not intend to give up its wide range of LCD televisions. The portfolio is set to include both very affordable models and high-end designs.
It is worth recalling that LG has previously showcased "Micro RGB" televisions, utilizing RGB LED backlighting placed behind the LCD panel. As revealed by FlatpanelsHD, the manufacturer plans to launch as many as three lines of LCD televisions with RGB LED backlighting in 2026.
QNED up to 115 inches for the first time in LG history
In 2026, LG will refresh its QNED LCD TV lineup, introducing the QNED90B, QNED85B, QNED82B, and QNED80B series, and it's possible that additional models will join later. The letter "B" in the name signifies the 2026 model year – in comparison, last year's LCD models ended with the letter "A."
The biggest novelty will be LG's first-ever 115-inch LCD TV, which will be part of the QNED90B series. This model will offer 4K resolution, LED local dimming, and a refresh rate of 165 Hz. The panel is supplied by TCL CSOT, which also manufactures the 115-inch LCD panels used by TCL and Samsung. Prices have not yet been disclosed, but it can be expected that the 115QNED90B model will be significantly more expensive than the current, more affordable LCD TVs with sizes ranging from 98 to 100 inches.
Smaller variants of the QNED90B will receive 144 Hz panels with miniLED backlighting and local dimming, although LG has not yet provided the number of zones. An updated 100-inch QNED85B will also be available.
No Dolby Vision 2 and HDMI 2.2
A new feature for 2026 will be Motion Booster, already known from TCL, Hisense, and Samsung televisions. It allows for doubling the refresh rate to as much as 330 Hz at a resolution of 1080p, primarily aimed at PC gamers. At the same time, LG has confirmed that televisions for 2026 will not support Dolby Vision 2 or HDMI 2.2. The webOS 26 system will, however, receive a range of new features that LG has already announced.
Additionally, the manufacturer is preparing a new line of LCD televisions inspired by the Samsung The Frame concept – under the name Gallery TV.
