Microsoft has revealed another list of games that will be joining Xbox Game Pass in the coming days and weeks. The list includes both smaller indie titles and eagerly awaited releases available on the subscription from day one. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, the next instalment in the popular series, looks particularly interesting. Players should also check the list of titles that will soon be removed from the library.
Xbox Game Pass will gain many new titles in the second half of August
The first of the new releases is Vapor World: Over the Mind, which arrives on Xbox Game Pass on 19 August. It’s a narrative souls-like combined with a platformer in which the player takes the role of a boy trapped in a dark, danger-filled world. A parry system plays an important role in the gameplay, and the experience also focuses on uncovering memories and the story behind the mysterious world. On the same day subscribers will also get BlazBlue Entropy Effect X, a dynamic roguelite set in the BlazBlue universe. Relooted will also join the service; in it players take on the roles of thieves trying to recover African artefacts housed in Western museums. On 20 August Starsand Island will arrive, offering much calmer gameplay centred on exploring an island, fishing, farming and meeting animals.
Two more titles appear on 25 August. Aerial_Knight’s DropShot will blend fast-paced FPS action with racing, while Blood Dungeon will offer 2D platforming survival combat. Players will traverse dangerous dungeons, evade monsters, collect blood and power-ups, and later use the bones they find to develop their character.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will debut on Game Pass, and several games will leave the service
The biggest release among the new titles will be Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, which will appear on Xbox Game Pass on 27 August and will be available on day one. The game follows the story of Sophia, who ends up on the mysterious Minotaur Island. There she will have to solve puzzles, traverse dangerous terrain and fight opponents, while trying to escape an army that is hunting her.
But that is not the end of August releases. On 31 August Young Suns will move to full release — a narrative life sim set after a successful revolution on Jupiter. Then on 1 September Shelldiver will arrive on Game Pass, an unusual game in which the player helps a turtle catch jellyfish, upgrade equipment and explore ever greater depths of the ocean. Microsoft also reminded players of the titles that will soon leave the library. On 31 August Another Crab’s Treasure, I Am Your Beast, Neon Abyss, One Lonely Outpost and The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, Remastered Edition will be removed from Xbox Game Pass. NBA 2K26 will remain a little longer and will be available until 6 September. That means subscribers still have a few days to catch up on those titles before they are removed.
Xbox Game Pass is once again receiving a sizable batch of new titles, and the end of August looks particularly interesting. The biggest release will be Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, which will be added to the service's library on day one. Players will also get, among others, Blood Dungeon, Vapor World: Over the Mind and Starsand Island. It's also worth remembering the games leaving Game Pass, as some of them will disappear from the catalogue on 31 August.
