TCL celebrates a record year. These TVs are the best-selling in the world.

Calendar 6/23/2026

The TV market is becoming increasingly competitive, but some manufacturers manage to stand out from their rivals. One of them is TCL, which, according to the latest data from analytics firm Omdia, has achieved a very strong position in several key industry segments. The manufacturer can boast first place in sales of Mini LED TVs, large-screen models and devices running Google TV. This is another year in which the brand has posted very good results and expanded its presence in the global market. The growth of the Google TV segment is particularly impressive. TCL has held the leading position there for five years.

Google TV and large screens drive TCL's success

According to Omdia, TCL was the world's largest manufacturer of televisions running Google TV in 2025. In just a few years sales of such devices have risen almost fivefold. In 2021 the company shipped around 3.6 million TVs with the platform, while in 2025 that figure climbed to nearly 20 million sets. This rapid expansion shows how popular the Google TV platform has become. Users value, among other things, easy access to streaming apps, advanced content recommendations and integration with Google services. TCL has successfully leveraged this trend by combining modern smart TV features with its own display technologies. The company has also secured a very strong position in the large-screen TV segment. In the category of models with a diagonal of 75 inches and above the manufacturer shipped almost 5 million sets, capturing over 19 per cent of the global market. This is the third year running that TCL has led this segment. Growing interest in large screens stems in part from the rise of streaming platforms and the development of home entertainment. Consumers are increasingly opting for larger TVs that until a few years ago were regarded as premium products. TCL effectively meets these needs by offering a wide range of models across different price brackets, enabling the brand to attract customers in both the budget and premium segments.

Mini LED remains the manufacturer's biggest weapon

One of the most important pillars of TCL's success remains Mini LED technology. In 2025 the company sold nearly 4 million televisions featuring this technology, achieving over 31 per cent share of the global market. This means TCL has retained the leading position in this category for the second year running. The manufacturer points out that as early as 2019 it was the first to unveil a TV using QD-Mini LED technology. Since then the company has steadily developed its solutions for screen backlighting and improving image quality. Mini LED enables higher brightness, better contrast and more precise control of backlight zones. Thanks to this, TVs can offer image quality approaching that of far more expensive premium models. TCL is also currently developing the next generation of SQD-Mini LED panels, which should further enhance image performance. The company is also hoping for additional promotion of its products through cooperation with the Olympic and Paralympic movements. The manufacturer is a partner of the Milano Cortina 2026 Games and intends to use the event to showcase the capabilities of its latest TVs. Everything suggests that TCL does not intend to slow down and aims to continue strengthening its position in the key segments of the TV market.

TCL ended 2025 as the global leader in Mini LED televisions, in the 75-inch-and-larger segment and in devices running Google TV. The dynamic growth of these categories shows that the company has successfully capitalised on growing interest in modern display technologies and large screens.
