Samsung has been the market leader in televisions for 20 consecutive years!

It is official: there is only one king of the television market, although the crown is becoming heavier every year. According to the latest data from the renowned research firm Omdia, Samsung has once again maintained the title of global leader in television sales. This is a historic moment – the Koreans have ruled the global market continuously for 20 years.

In the year 2025, Samsung accounted for as much as 29.1% of the total value of global television sales. This means that nearly every third zloty (or dollar) spent worldwide on a new set went straight to the coffers of the Korean giant. This result is impressive, especially when we consider how much the world of televisions has changed since 2005. Because it was then that Samsung first took the throne.

Twenty Years at the Top

Maintaining a leadership position for two decades is an almost unprecedented achievement. Samsung has proven that it can adapt to changes – from the era of thick LCD televisions, through the LED revolution, to today’s mini-LEDs and QD-OLEDs. A market share of nearly 30% by 2025 shows that customers still most willingly reach for premium products bearing the logo of the Korean manufacturer.

Slightly Bitter Anniversary

Despite celebrating its 20th anniversary, Samsung cannot rest on its laurels. Although a result of 29.1% is impressive, the victory has a slightly bitter aftertaste. Behind the giant, competition from China is growing with great strength. It is their aggressive expansion that forces Samsung to make difficult decisions, such as the recently announced closure of the esteemed factory in Slovakia's Galanta after 24 years of operation.

Everyone is eagerly awaiting the official presentation of the new range of Samsung televisions for 2026. Will it be a moment of truth as the giant, celebrating 20 years at the top, showcases solutions that will set the competition back for another decade?
