Sony has unveiled its July lineup of games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. This time the spotlight is on a high‑profile shooter from Activision, but that’s not the only new arrival. The line-up also includes two highly rated indie titles that offer completely different experiences. All titles will be available to add to your library from 7 July.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III arrives on PlayStation Plus
The biggest star of July's offering is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. Players will receive the full Cross-Gen Bundle intended for PS5 and PS4 consoles. The package includes the single-player campaign, the multiplayer mode with refreshed maps known from Modern Warfare 2 (2009), and the Modern Warfare Zombies mode, where you can fight hordes of enemies in an open world. Although the campaign received mixed reactions after release, many players appreciated the expanded multiplayer and the Zombie mode. Thanks to PlayStation Plus, you can try the whole package at no extra cost.
Two smaller games can also pleasantly surprise
The second offering is For the King II, a cooperative RPG for up to four players. The title combines turn-based combat, roguelite elements and mechanics inspired by classic board games, offering a high degree of randomness and strong replayability. The third title is CrossCode, a well-regarded RPG with pixel art inspired by classics of the 16-bit era. The game stands out for its dynamic real-time combat, elaborate puzzles and an engaging story set in a science fiction world. All three games will be available to PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra and Premium subscribers from 7 July to 3 August.
July's PlayStation Plus offering looks very solid. The biggest attraction is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, but For the King II and CrossCode could also prove to be excellent options for those looking for something a bit less obvious.
