Artificial intelligence has become a major topic in the tech world, but not every implementation gains user recognition. According to a recent survey, as many as 96% of respondents declared that they do not use Apple Intelligence. This result may raise concerns, especially in the context of the growing popularity of tools like Google Gemini and ChatGPT. Although Apple remains one of the most powerful tech companies in the world, its approach to AI seems less convincing than that of its competitors. Many users do not see real value in the current system features. The question arises whether Apple has been late to the race for dominance in AI.
AI that does not impress
Some users indicate that features like notification summaries or smart suggestions are not precise or groundbreaking enough. Instead of genuinely improving the daily use of the iPhone, they often remain an add-on that can be easily dismissed. Compared to more advanced assistants based on language models, Apple's solution appears cautious.
The problem lies not only in quality but also in strategy. Competitors are openly developing chatbots and generative AI, while Apple is still balancing between privacy and functionality, not offering a clear leader in its category.
Does Apple have something to fear?
CEO Tim Cook may not feel any direct financial threat, but the situation looks less comfortable in terms of public perception. The market is increasingly talking about “AI phones,” and consumers expect visible benefits from the implementation of artificial intelligence. If iOS 27 indeed brings delays or fails to offer a significant improvement, Siri could become a symbol of unfulfilled promises.
On the other hand, there are signals that Apple is considering a deeper integration with Gemini, which could strengthen the system's capabilities. However, this is still music for the future.
96% negative responses in the survey is a warning signal, even for the giant from Cupertino. Apple still has the resources and brand to close the gap, but the current features of Apple Intelligence do not inspire enthusiasm. If the company wants to remain at the centre of the AI revolution, it must offer something more than cosmetic improvements.
