Bravia 6 is getting closer to its premiere. A leak reveals new OLED televisions from Sony.

Sony has recently focused its attention primarily on new televisions using True RGB technology. Many people have begun to wonder whether the Japanese manufacturer will limit the development of OLED models in favour of a new generation of LCD screens. However, the latest reports suggest a completely different scenario. Information has surfaced online indicating preparations for the premiere of a new series of OLED televisions called Bravia 6. If the rumours prove to be true, Sony could significantly expand its offerings and target a more affordable segment of the market.

A leak suggests a new OLED series from Sony

The first information about Bravia 6 has emerged from entries found in certification databases from several countries. Additionally, the name of the new series was spotted on Sony's technical support pages, where it appeared in a list of compatible wall mounts. This detail attracted the attention of market observers. According to available data, the televisions are expected to be available in 48-, 55-, 65-, 77-, and 83-inch versions. Such a range of sizes suggests the use of WOLED panels, which are currently widely employed in OLED televisions from various manufacturers. The name Bravia 6 indicates that the new line would be positioned below the current Bravia 8 models. This would mean more attractive prices for customers seeking OLED technology without the need to spend amounts typical of the premium segment. There is speculation in the industry that Sony may utilize new OLED SE panels, which allow for reduced production costs. However, there is currently no official confirmation of such information. History shows that similar leaks regarding Sony televisions have often appeared many months before a launch. This was the case, for example, with the Bravia 7 II and Bravia 9 II models. Therefore, some experts believe that the debut of Bravia 6 is very likely. If this happens, Sony may make a stronger push into the mid-range OLED market for the first time in a while.

Four HDMI 2.1 ports could be a key advantage

One of the most interesting elements of the leak is the information regarding the equipment of the new televisions. According to available data, the Bravia 6 is expected to use the MediaTek Pentonic 800 chipset. Thanks to this, users could receive a full set of four HDMI 2.1 ports. For many gamers, this would be a very significant change. Currently, even some more expensive Sony televisions only offer two HDMI 2.1 connections, which is often criticised by users with several modern devices simultaneously. Four ports would make it easy to connect a PlayStation 5 console, an Xbox Series X, a gaming computer, and an AV receiver without the need to switch cables. This solution has been used by some competitors for years and is often mentioned as one of the biggest advantages over Sony televisions. Additionally, the Pentonic 800 offers modern features related to high refresh rate support and VRR technology. As a result, the Bravia 6 could become an attractive option for gamers looking for an OLED television at a more reasonable price. For now, all this information should be treated as unconfirmed reports. Sony has not announced a new series nor commented on the emerging leaks. Nevertheless, the number of clues is increasing week by week. This leads to more and more people expecting an official presentation before the end of 2026.

Although Sony has not officially confirmed the existence of the Bravia 6 series, further leaks suggest that the manufacturer may be preparing a new line of more affordably priced OLED televisions. Models with diagonals ranging from 48 to 83 inches, four HDMI 2.1 ports, and the modern MediaTek Pentonic 800 processor could make them a very attractive proposition for gamers and movie lovers. If the information is confirmed, Sony may soon strengthen its presence in the mid-range segment of the OLED market.
