The end of the year is a time when various platforms present their summaries à la Spotify Wrapped. This time, YouTube enters the fray – but not the music one. The service has just launched its first-ever summary based solely on videos watched on the main platform, independently of YouTube Music.
What does the new YouTube Recap include?
Users will receive up to 12 personalised cards showing:
the most watched channels,
dominant interests,
changes in viewing habits,
assigned "viewer personality type".
Among the viewer types, we will find:
Skill Builder — people who watch content that develops skills,
Sunshiner — those who prefer positive materials,
Trailblazer — viewers looking for original content that breaks the mould.
There are also types like Wonder Seeker, Connector or Dreamer.
Although the Recap on the main platform also includes music compilations, more detailed data about tracks and artists is still available in the YouTube Music app. The new summary is available from today for users in North America, and it will be rolled out globally this week. It can be found on the YouTube homepage or in the "You" tab, both on mobile devices and computers.
YouTube emphasises that the feature was created at the specific request of users and underwent over 50 concept tests before reaching its final form.
What's new in Apple Music Replay 2025?
Apple has also released this year's edition of Apple Music Replay, its equivalent of Wrapped. This year, the summary gains new metrics regarding listening habits. In addition to the classic lists of favourite songs, artists, and albums, Replay also shows:
Discovery — new artists discovered by the user,
Loyalty — artists that the listener returns to most frequently,
Comebacks — creators who have returned to rotation after a break.
Users will also see:
total minutes listened,
the number of artists they have listened to,
the longest streak of listening to a single artist,
favourite genres and detailed statistics for the year.
Replay can be launched from the “Home” tab in Apple Music. Apple also allows browsing monthly summaries and those from previous years, as well as the “Replay All Time” list – the most played tracks since joining the service. Artists will receive additional metrics, including listening growth and year-on-year comparisons.
Replay 2025 appears a week after YouTube Recap and on the same day as the Amazon Music charts.
