Samsung S99H, S95H OLED, Micro RGB and the Mini-LED series. What do we know about Samsung TVs 2026?

Calendar 4/16/2026

Samsung officially launches the pre-sale of TVs for 2026. The new offering turns the brand's previous strategy upside down. Instead of predictable refreshes of familiar designs, there are many completely new models in the portfolio. The giant from Seoul is introducing solutions that cast a whole new light on the product offering and plans to compete with its biggest rivals.

Samsung OLED S99H: OLED framed

A completely new model in the OLED television segment for 2026 is expected to be the S99H. This is a completely new addition to the portfolio of the Korean manufacturer and – importantly – it should not be considered as a successor to the S95F series. It is worth mentioning the S95H model here, which is a completely different device in Europe compared to the USA; it can be regarded as the successor to the S95F.

S99H is set to be a direct competitor to this year's LG W6 series. It is a premium OLED where the main focus is on design. This year, Samsung has installed a thicker metal frame around it called FloatLayer. This allows you to mount the television and flush it almost perfectly against the wall, which was previously completely impossible.

What's inside? QD-OLED and Tandem WOLED

Besides the frame itself, it's worth looking at the panel technology. Samsung has opted for two types of panels here:

  • 55-77 inch variants: They use a proprietary QD-OLED panel.

  • 83 inch variant: Here, you'll likely find a 2nd generation Tandem OLED matrix.

Samsung hasn't forgotten about its strong suit, which is gaming. Each of these models features:

  • Refresh rate of 165Hz.

  • Full support with 4 HDMI 2.1 ports.

  • Support for VRR and ALLM technologies.

It looks like the S99H is an option for those seeking top-notch parameters packed in a very specific, luxurious casing. But will this metal "armour" FloatLayer win over minimalism fans? We're waiting for your opinions.

S95H: The top model, but in a traditional edition

The next top model, about which not much is known yet, is the Samsung S95H. According to various online forums, such as AVForums, this model is meant to be a solution for those looking for the highest quality picture, but in a somewhat more "subdued" form. Unlike the previously described model S99H, S95H does not come with the additional metal FloatLayer frame. For many users, this may be a much "safer" and less challenging choice, as the television retains a more classic look that we know from last year’s S95F.

Notable confusion with naming (USA vs Europe)

It’s worth clarifying the issue of naming here, as it can cause quite a bit of confusion when reading foreign reviews. The model known as S95H in the United States is actually our European flagship S99H. This means that American reviewers will be describing equipment with a metal frame, while our European S95H is a FRAMELESS design. It's quite a strange strategy.

Matrix Mix: QD-OLED and WOLED in one model

In terms of technology, the S95H model offers a similar matrix division depending on the screen diagonal. The television will be available in sizes from 48 to 77 inches. The situation with the panels is as follows:

  • The 55, 65 and 77 inch variants use the latest generation of QD-OLED panels,

  • The 48-inch version, on the other hand, will use a WOLED panel, as QD-OLED panels are not produced in such a small size.

This means that by choosing the smallest model, you will receive a slightly different image characteristic than with the larger models.

Glare Free – matte coating

Like all models this year from the series (S90, S95, S99), the S95H is also equipped with a matte coating on the screen called Glare Free. This solution allows you to forget about annoying reflections from windows or lamps during a viewing, as this coating effectively scatters external light. As a result, blacks remain deep even in a brightly lit room. Additionally, this model supports a refresh rate of 165 Hz and has a full set of gaming features.

MICRO RGB replaces the top models Neo QLED? MICRO RGB R95H and R85H

This is the biggest surprise in Samsung's offering this year. All rumours confirm the discontinuation of the QN90 and QN85 models in favour of completely new televisions from the R series. The manufacturer's range will feature two models: R85H (may appear as R86H) and the flagship R95H.

RGB Backlighting

This is a true three-colour revolution. Instead of the classic Mini-LED backlighting, Samsung uses three separate LEDs here: red, green, and blue. This solution is intended to guarantee higher brightness and even better colour reproduction.

R95H: Top 4K Screen

The flagship model R95 is looking particularly interesting. It will be available in sizes from 65 to 85 inches. It is equipped with a new processor Micro RGB AI Engine Pro. This proprietary processor (as the name suggests, based on artificial intelligence) manages the lighting from the three-coloured diodes. The design of the device strongly refers to the luxury series Neo QLED 8K QN990F. Just like the model from the 8K family, it features a glass stand.

R85H (R86H): 55, 65", 75", 85"

The R85H model is positioned as a more affordable alternative to the flagship R95H. The R85H, also known as R86H, is intended to serve as an entry point into the segment of televisions that use RGB backlighting.

Specification and Backlighting Technology

Similar to the higher model R95H, the manufacturer has utilised Micro RGB technology here. The key difference affecting the lower price, however, is the configuration of local dimming zones – in the R85H, their number will likely be significantly fewer than in the top model. Nonetheless, the use of Micro RGB aims to provide better control over contrast and colour reproduction. The R85H will feature a 144Hz panel instead of the 165Hz found in the R95H.

M80H: Mini-LED Series Looks Set to Be a Price Sensation

Another new release that has officially appeared in Samsung's announcements for the Polish market is the model M80H. The letter "M" in the name directly refers to the Mini-LED slogan. This series does not use quantum dots, so it should not be confused or associated with the Neo QLED TV family. The idea is for these to be the cheapest TVs using Mini-LED diodes in Samsung's entire range. It’s worth noting that there is also the M70 model that has emerged in the United States, however, at this time there are no specific announcements regarding its availability in Poland.

Cold shower on local dimming

So what do we know about the M80H model? First and foremost, it will be available in a wide range of sizes – from 55 to as much as 85 inches. It has also been confirmed that the heart of the backlighting is Mini-LEDs. However, there is a bit of a 'catch'.

Until recently, we assumed that this model would receive full array local dimming, which would allow for precise contrast control. However, it turns out that the first users who have received this model on the American market indicate a lack of local dimming technology. Mini-LEDs have been used here in the classic form of Direct LED or Edge LED, which means they shine uniformly all the time. It's a bit disappointing, as we were hoping that this model would shake up the market not only with its aggressive pricing but also with noticeably better picture quality in dark scenes.

The cheapest 144 Hz in Samsung's offer

Despite the lack of local dimming, the M80H has one powerful argument that will attract crowds: it is the cheapest Samsung TV with a refresh rate of 144 Hz. For gamers, this is crucial information. The television will be equipped with 3 HDMI 2.1 ports, which will support all the most important technologies, such as HGiG, VRR, and FreeSync Premium. It will also feature the proprietary motion smoothing for gaming, namely Game Motion Plus. In terms of motion smoothness at its price, the M80H could simply be unbeatable.

Samsung Vision AI: Intelligence on a Budget

The M80 model belongs to a new, broad range of products marked as Samsung Vision AI. What does this magical phrase mean? Unlike cheaper, "regular" series, this device comes equipped with special features based on artificial intelligence. There are plenty of marketing slogans here, and it doesn’t make sense to list them all, but you can count on intelligent image scaling and scene optimisation features that have so far been reserved exclusively for higher series.

Prices for the Samsung M80H model: Is it worth it?

We already know the prices for the M80 model from the American market, and after converting them to Australian dollars (considering market realities), they look exceptionally attractive.

QN80H: Revamped Neo QLED Series

Many of you might have thought that the new Mini-LED models from the M series would completely replace the Neo QLED line, but that won't be the case. Samsung has officially announced a refresh of this popular family, and its main representative for 2026 will be the model QN80H. This is a television that we will buy in a record range of sizes, as the offering starts from the classic 55 inches and goes up to the massive 100-inch panel.

In contrast to the cheaper M series, the QN80H model is equipped with Mini LED Full Array technology supported by quantum dots. This means that from this model in the LCD segment, we can expect genuinely better black quality and precise zone dimming. The image processing is handled by the well-known NQ4 AI Gen2 processor.

Gaming novelty: DLG 240Hz

For gamers, Samsung has prepared something extra. In addition to the standard 144Hz refresh rate, the QN80H model features the DLG 240Hz system. This technology allows the television to switch to a lower resolution mode (Full HD) in exchange for achieving an astonishing refresh rate of 240 frames per second. This is a feature that should particularly delight PC gamers with powerful graphics cards.

Estimated Prices for the Samsung QN80H Model

Starting prices appear to be higher than in the M series, but appropriately reflect the capabilities of the Neo QLED series televisions.

The Frame Pro (2026) in a new size

The latest model officially announced by Samsung for 2026 is the new The Frame Pro. However, if you were hoping for a technological revolution, I have to cool your expectations. In reality, this TV is mainly refreshed with a new Smart TV system, and that’s pretty much where the new features end.

We will still be dealing with a matte panel Glare Free, which brilliantly handles reflections, as well as a wireless One Connect module that allows all cables to be hidden. Of course, the interchangeable bezels function remains unchanged, so aesthetically it is still the same artistic concept.

The Frame Pro for the first time in 55"

The only real novelty is the fact that the “Pro” model will now be available in a 55 inch size. This is significant because the 2025 variant only started at 65 inches, which was an insurmountable barrier for many people, forcing them to purchase the standard version of The Frame with the wired One Connect box. So, if any of you want to buy a slightly better and more refined version of the artistic television but have limited space in your lounge, you will finally have that option.
