If you haven't had the chance to check out what the legendary studio Bungie has been working on for the last few years, you need to act quickly. The ongoing "Server Slam" for the game Marathon is rapidly coming to an end. These are the final hours when anyone can enter the world of Tau Ceti IV for free and see for themselves if the new production from the creators of Halo and Destiny lives up to the hopes placed in it.
Why is it worth jumping into the beta right now?
The current tests, dubbed by the creators as “Server Slam”, are not just an opportunity for some free fun, but also a chance to earn unique items that will be assigned to your account at launch. Participants can check out two maps: Perimeter and Dire Marsh, as well as test five of the six available “Runner Shells” (special armours with various abilities). Bungie has also made available a proximity voice chat system that allows for forming uncertain alliances with encountered players – or brutally breaking them at the least expected moment.
Last chance before the big premiere
Remember that the servers will be turned off on Monday morning (2 March), so Sunday is the last full day to test the game without incurring any costs. This is crucial, as the full version of the game, which will debut on 5 March 2026, will be a paid title. If you plan to purchase on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC, today's tests are the best way to see how your machine handles the unique, neon graphical style of “graphic realism” and whether Bungie's shooting model is still as sweet as in their previous hits.
