Huawei has just unveiled its new flagship television from the Smart Screen series, and it's hard to ignore. The model Huawei Smart Screen Mate TV Max is a true giant, aiming for the absolute top of the market and looking like a serious competitor to the latest RGB LED and Micro LED designs.
The new Mate TV Max is now available for pre-order in China and expands on the concept presented in September, when Huawei showcased the Mate TV and Mate TV Pro Mini-LED models in sizes ranging from 65 to 98 inches. This time, the company has taken it a step further – or rather, several inches further.
110 inches and Super Mini-LED
The Huawei Smart Screen Mate TV Max is available in one powerful size, 110 inches. The panel offers a native resolution of 4K and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This may not be a record in this class, but it's hard to consider it a real drawback, as the rest of the specifications are extremely impressive. The standout feature is the brightness – up to 6000 nits, supported by very precise Mini-LED backlight control. The manufacturer claims a contrast of 2300:1, coverage of 125% DCI-P3, and 91% BT.2020, placing this model among the very best LCD televisions.
Processor like a smartphone
Huawei boasts that the Mate TV Max is their first television equipped with a flagship smartphone-class processor. According to the manufacturer, it offers:
a multicore performance increase of 490%,
an improvement in GPU performance of 251%.
Everything runs on HarmonyOS and supports advanced AI features. Additionally, it includes a dedicated image enhancement chip with 3.6 billion transistors, responsible for AI 4K Super Resolution and intelligent HDR effects, among others.
Premium design and uncompromising sound
The television looks like top-of-the-line equipment. The bezels are only 1.2 mm, and Huawei claims a 99% screen-to-body ratio. Included is a new remote with a touchpad, AI gesture control, and 33% better pointing accuracy compared to previous Mate TV models. Audio is another strong point. The Mate TV Max offers a 3.1.2 system:
two 20-watt upward-firing speakers,
60-watt subwoofer,
special "suspended woofer" descending to 39 Hz.
For a television, this is a very serious configuration that could easily replace a basic soundbar in many living rooms. In terms of ports, Huawei hasn't skimped either – on board we find four HDMI 2.1 ports, USB 2.0, and S/PDIF output for connecting an external audio system.
Price and Availability
The Huawei Smart Screen Mate TV Max costs 64,999 RMB in China, which roughly translates to:
Currency | Price (approx.) |
|---|---|
USD | 9,100 USD |
EUR | 8,400 EUR |
GBP | 6,900 GBP |
AUD | 13,900 AUD |
PLN | 36,000–37,000 zł |
For a 110-inch television with brightness reaching 6000 nits, advanced Mini-LED and top specification, this is surprisingly low pricing. For comparison:
Samsung expects around 25,000 pounds for its 115-inch Micro RGB TV,
Hisense 116UX RGB Mini-LED is priced at a very similar, extremely high level.
However, the key question remains – whether Mate TV Max will reach Europe or the USA. Huawei sells its smartphones globally, but previous televisions from the Smart Screen series have largely been restricted to the Chinese market. At this moment, the manufacturer has not confirmed an international launch. If this model does leave China, it could seriously shake up the ultra-large premium television segment, especially considering the price to capability ratio.
