Check out our selection of 5 series that stand out the most in July 2025.

The Sandman - season 2

Premiere: 3rd July 2025

Great return of one of the highest-rated comic adaptations in recent years. “The Sandman” is a surreal journey through the world of dreams, death, hell, and – this time – an even greater threat to the order of the universe. Neil Gaiman is once again keeping his finger on the pulse, and the creative team isn't shying away from bolder visions. Tom Sturridge (Dream) is even more magnetic, and the new cast (including Indya Moore and Ruairi O'Connor) brings fresh tension. Visually – pure poetry. The production style is once again a mix of theatricality, practical effects, and CGI that doesn’t try to be realistic – just beautiful.

Too Much

Premiere: 10 July 2025

A romantic comedy directed by Lena Dunham, exactly what you might expect… yet not entirely. “Too Much” is the story of an American woman who, after a painful breakup, finds herself in London and starts anew. Starring Meg Stalter, alongside her is Will Sharpe, who brings quite a bit of British cool to the relationship. The series is shot with a keen sense of urban style – fewer colours, more space, a realistic camera, and a heap of dialogue that feels like it was truly lived. This isn’t your classic Netflix rom-com. It’s more “Fleabag” than “Emily in Paris.”

Leviathan

Release date: 10 July 2025

Anime that can stir things up – especially among those who are fed up with clichés. “Leviathan” is a steampunk tale about an alternate history of World War I, where aerial beasts and mechanical monsters battle for dominance. The series is based on a book by Scott Westerfeld and is a Japanese-American co-production, evident in the animation style: precise drawings, dynamic fight scenes, great choreography, and a distinct retro-technology vibe. If “Attack on Titan” and “Castlevania” are your jam – you’ll feel right at home here.

UNTAMED

Release Date: 17th July 2025

Eric Bana and Sam Neill in the same series? Sounds like early 2000s cinema, but “UNTAMED” is a contemporary story from the wild heart of California. The plot? It starts with the disappearance of a tourist in Yosemite National Park, and then the tension just keeps rising. The series is crafted like a premium crime drama: long shots, muted colours, great music, and a pace that allows for emotion. Bana plays a former park ranger, Neill – an enigmatic scientist. It’s more “True Detective” than “CSI”.

The Hunting Wives

Premiere: 21 July 2025

The adaptation of May Cobb's bestselling novel is coming to Netflix, featuring Malin Åkerman and Brittany Snow in lead roles. At first glance – a stylish series about female friendship and the boredom of American suburbs. In reality – a psychological thriller about obsession, manipulation, and secrets that emerge from an ostensibly tranquil life. The series is styled after the Southern USA, with a strong emphasis on atmosphere: humid nights, rifle shots, furtive glances. If you enjoy "Big Little Lies" – this will be perfect for you.

So what will you choose this month?

A great dream in a new edition? London dates with obstacles? Or maybe a cruise that turns into a dark survival game? July 2025 is a month when Netflix doesn't take shortcuts – we get grand premieres, emotions in every form, and stories that linger with the viewer for longer.
