The hit Xbox game is coming to PS5. Is Microsoft falling apart?

Calendar 6/10/2025

Halo on PS5?! After Forza, Microsoft is giving up exclusives again. Legendary space soldiers are coming to Sony’s console. A new era of multiplatform hits is about to begin.

Not so long ago, something like this would sound like a fantasy of Sony fans on forums. And today? Here it is. After “Forza Horizon 5” on PS5, it’s time for another big title from Microsoft. Halo — the same series that has been the face of Xbox for decades — is set to come to the competitor's console.

And no, this is not a joke or a leak from "a cousin who works at Microsoft." This is a real scenario that is beginning to materialize.

After Forza, the brakes went off

Forza Horizon 5 debuted on PlayStation 5 and... no one expected Microsoft to go this far. And yet, after Playground Games’ racing game hit the jackpot on Sony's platform, Microsoft seems to have concluded that exclusivity is a thing of the past.

Now the next move: “the Japanese exclusive about soldiers in space” – meaning, of course, Halo – is set to be another franchise that will leave the green garden and debut on the blue lawn.

Halo on PS5? Everything indicates so

Industry leaks are clear: "Halo" has appeared in the databases of several major stores in a version for PlayStation. Insiders confirm that something is going on. The most talked about is Halo: The Master Chief Collection, a set of remastered classics — from Combat Evolved to Halo 4.

But there are also voices that it might be Halo 5: Guardians — a game that never made it to PC. If it actually came to PS5, it would be a debut for a whole host of new players.

Microsoft is giving away treasures? A new era is coming

This all fits into a broader shift in Microsoft's strategy. Instead of keeping its biggest brands exclusive to Xbox, the company is focusing on multiplatform availability. And it seems that it's no longer just about Game Pass and PC, but full expansion to PlayStation.

Switch 2? For now, silence. It appears that the Japanese console is not part of this plan – at least not for now.

If Halo does indeed arrive on PS5, it will be a turning point in gaming history. A symbolic moment when even the biggest players understood that gamers just want to play — regardless of whether they are holding a DualSense or an Xbox controller.

Because if "Halo" can come to PlayStation, then... what's next? Gears? Fable? Or maybe even something like Starfield one day?

One thing is for sure: the lines between platforms are blurred. And while Microsoft is still holding on, it's clear that its exclusivity is bursting at the seams.
