The first OLED TVs with Dolby Vision 2 in 2026 – Philips is ahead of the competition!

Calendar 1/7/2026

Philips will be the first manufacturer to introduce OLED TVs with Dolby Vision 2 in 2026. The new OLED811 and OLED911 series, along with the flagship OLED951, will offer advanced image processing, AI-based picture enhancements, and a possible debut of the MediaTek Pentonic 800 processor.

While Samsung completely ignores Dolby Vision, and LG has not decided to implement Dolby Vision 2 in its TVs for 2026, Philips will be the first brand to introduce Dolby Vision 2 to OLED TVs. This information was confirmed directly from Dolby during the CES 2026 trade show.

– "The 2026 Philips OLED TVs, produced by TP Vision, will support Dolby Vision 2. This applies to the new series Philips OLED811, OLED911, and the flagship OLED951" – Dolby informed.

Dolby Vision 2 was officially presented in September 2025. The new version of the technology introduces a completely new image engine, Content Intelligence mechanisms, and additional adaptive image enhancement features that go beyond classic HDR. More details can be found in our Q&A with Dolby regarding Dolby Vision 2.

Three brands confirmed Dolby Vision 2

Philips thus joins the group of manufacturers who have officially announced support for Dolby Vision 2 in 2026. Previously, Dolby confirmed that the technology will be available in Hisense LCD TVs with miniLED backlighting – specifically in the UXS, UR9S, and UR8S series – as well as in selected mid-range models. For Hisense, the update is expected to be available through firmware.

TCL also announced support for Dolby Vision 2 in its flagship televisions for 2026. The X11L models and the C series will receive the new standard, with TCL confirming the presence of the Dolby Vision 2 Max variant at least in the X11L model. Here too, the update is expected to appear later in 2026. Sony and Panasonic have not yet revealed details regarding their televisions for 2026.

Philips OLED TVs for 2026

Philips will not be participating in CES 2026, so the full presentation of the new line of televisions will only take place in the coming months. However, it is already known that:

  • OLED811 will replace the highly regarded OLED810 model

  • OLED911 will take the place of OLED910

  • OLED951 will be the new flagship replacing OLED950

It seems that the OLED911 and OLED951 models will be equipped with the 2026 Tandem WOLED, which is the same new type of panel that will be used in LG G6 and C6H televisions. Support for Dolby Vision 2 almost certainly means that Philips is switching to the MediaTek Pentonic 800 processor. This chip supports up to four HDMI 2.1 ports—instead of two, as in current models—and offers new AI-based image enhancement features.

The complete lineup of Philips televisions for 2026 is expected to be presented by the manufacturer in the coming months.
