Fight Club has officially premiered in 4K quality after several months of delays. The cult film directed by David Fincher has been restored and is now available for digital distribution with Dolby Vision HDR support.
David Fincher is finishing refreshing his classics
Fight Club was originally set to receive a 4K version last year to celebrate the film's 25th anniversary. However, the restoration and scanning process of the 35 mm films apparently took longer than anticipated. The new version offers a 4K image with Dolby Vision HDR and 5.1 Dolby Surround sound. Currently, the film is mainly available on the Apple TV app, but it is set to hit other VOD platforms soon.
The film will also receive a physical UHD Blu-ray release. The disc version will offer a 4K HDR10 image and DTS-HD MA 5.1 sound. This is another classic from Fincher that has been refreshed recently. Previously, the director also oversaw the restoration of productions like Se7en, Zodiac, and Panic Room. However, new 4K releases for Alien 3 and The Game are still missing.
Fight Club Still Remains One of the Most Important Cult Films
Fight Club has long been considered one of the most important films of the late 90s. The production featuring Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, and Helena Bonham Carter has achieved cult status and continues to rank very high on IMDb.
