Epson has announced a new, upcoming flagship projector designed for commercial applications, which aims to set a new standard of "performance, precision, and versatility" in large spaces. While details are still scarce, the company confirmed that the device will be showcased for the first time at the ISE 2026 trade fair in Barcelona, which will take place in February of next year.
The Japanese manufacturer, known for some of the best projectors in the professional market, revealed that the new flagship model will feature very high brightness and 4K resolution. However, it is still unclear what type of light source will be used or what the maximum brightness and image diagonal offered by the projector will be. One thing is certain – the equipment has been designed with large venues in mind, such as performance halls, exhibition centers, or immersive installations.
Epson also announces a new, integrated cooling system that is expected to improve reliability during prolonged use, as well as a wide range of connectors to ensure compatibility with various signal sources and AV systems.
“Infinite Column of Light” at the Epson Booth
During ISE 2026, visitors will be able to see a new projector in a special installation called the “Infinity installation.” The experience was designed by Luca Rapis from One Thousand and aims to resemble an “infinite column of light,” surrounding viewers with a dynamic, layered environment that is meant to engage both the senses and the imagination. Sounds ambitious – and very much in Epson's style, which has focused on spectacular demonstrations of projection capabilities for years.
New Generation of Professional Lenses
Along with the flagship projector, Epson will also showcase a new generation of professional lenses. These are designed to increase installation flexibility and enable the use of the projector in a wide range of scenarios – from classic event halls to unusual spaces and special projects.
Interactive UST Projector for Education
The second novelty announced for ISE 2026 will be an interactive ultra-short throw projector designed for education and teamwork in classrooms. Here, too, the details are sparse, but Epson promises a large image, high resolution, and brightness that ensures good visibility from anywhere in the classroom.
Key to the concept is the word "interactive." It suggests the possibility of direct interaction with the displayed image – perhaps using a pointer, pen, or another dedicated accessory. Additionally, the new UST projector is expected to consume less energy than traditional display technologies, which may be a significant argument for schools and public institutions.
Projection versus panels and LEDs
Epson emphasizes that its goal is to show that modern projection can "surpass flat panels and LED displays in terms of creativity, flexibility, and visual effect." We still have to wait for the prices and exact market launch dates, but everything indicates that the new projectors will be available for sale in 2026 – and they are unlikely to be cheap solutions.
